    Watching this, you really notice the moments when DJJ’s accent slips a little, but you don’t really notice it during the normal course of an episode, which is pretty interesting, to me

    I like how in one episode The Cat asks what a dog is, then in a future episode uses it as an insult against Rimmer.

    It’s interesting how it highlights the role of the character as a ‘viewer stand-in person that asks all the questions which I can’t remember what the proper name for is’.

    I guess just like Holly got dropped due to the exposition role moving to Kryten, Cat didn’t have much to do in VIII as there was nothing that really needed an exposition prompt.

    The proper name might be viewer stand-in.
