But I think it would be better to have a forum thread for doing this, because: 1) The comments on that article are making the page really long, so a paginated thread is probably better. 2) If they’re all kept together in a thread of their own then it’ll probably be easier to keep track of which ones have been reported and fixed. (As long as people don’t confuse things by, say, making up fake errors… or mixing up the subtitle errors with memes about subtitle errors… … uh-oh.) 3) I know the original announcement article says they should be reported by email, but posting them in forum comments is probably quicker. (If you spot an error because you’re already making a meme for another thread, it’s not much effort to save the image that has the problem and post it here.) Anyway, this is the one I spotted today that prompted me to start this thread: Also, lines that begin with ellipses often only have one or two dots: Also, I’m sure I saw one not long ago where a stray “&” or “ ” or “▯” turned up. But now I’ve forgotten where I saw it and – despite ctrl+F-ing a lot of episodes’ pages – can’t find it again. :( Creator Topic Viewing 50 replies - 1 through 50 (of 65 total) 1 2 Author Replies July 1, 2025 at 12:06 am #308107 MoonlightParticipant Pleading with Cappsy to install my five series worth of existing corrections into the Smega-Drive before more people start reporting errors here. Also I’ve just submitted fixes to these errors. There was an ellipsis with only two periods not far below the Pete one you posted so I got that too. July 1, 2025 at 9:43 am #308118 Jonathan CappsKeymaster Yeah, hold fire until I can submit the fixes from this incredibly angry woman that keeps sending me abusive messages. This is where we’re managing the most up to date subtitles so anyone who’s so inclined can check if a fix has been made here and if not submit a PR: https://github.com/cappsyco/reddwarfsubs/ July 1, 2025 at 11:49 am #308120 UnrumbleParticipant July 1, 2025 at 12:02 pm #308121 JenuallParticipant July 1, 2025 at 8:33 pm #308125 Nick RParticipant This is where we’re managing the most up to date subtitles so anyone who’s so inclined can check if a fix has been made here and if not submit a PR: https://github.com/cappsyco/reddwarfsubs/ Thanks – I saw that in the comments of the announcement article you mentioned a GitHub would be available, but I there wasn’t a link to it so I didn’t know it was active. July 1, 2025 at 9:28 pm #308126 MoonlightParticipant I am still astonished at some of these subtitle errors that are so broken they feel impossible to have survived a single proofreading. July 1, 2025 at 9:30 pm #308127 UnrumbleParticipant July 1, 2025 at 9:53 pm #308128 MoonlightParticipant Yeah, hold fire until I can submit the fixes from this incredibly angry woman that keeps sending me abusive messages. I’m not angry, just disappointed. September 28, 2025 at 8:20 pm #311554 MoonlightParticipant Just did corrections for Emohawk (including correcting Gelf to GELF in all instances). I’ve ALWAYS heard this as “Death to the stranger” but now I’m not sure. Consulting the G&T hive mind. September 28, 2025 at 8:23 pm #311555 Quinn: Clochebusters World ChampionParticipant In an acronym becomes a noun, wouldn’t Gelf or gelf be correct September 28, 2025 at 8:24 pm #311556 MoonlightParticipant I’ve just always seen it written as GELF. September 29, 2025 at 8:18 am #311559 PodeyParticipant Is this the new ‘Dave Lister’s Smeglewhack Adventure’? February 27, 2026 at 11:30 pm #316854 MoonlightParticipant Cappsy has (reportedly) (supposedly) finally incorporated all of my fixes into the Smegadrive. So any errors you now see are assuredly ones I have not addressed yet. February 28, 2026 at 7:15 am #316863 DaveParticipant A lot of lines now seem… off, somehow. February 28, 2026 at 7:19 am #316865 WarbodogParticipant So is this “Luke,” like the name, or “Nuke,” as the Tongue Tied wiki insists? Discuss. February 28, 2026 at 9:02 am #316869 WarbodogParticipant This is what YouTube reckons. It sounds like an N, but maybe the actor stumbled over all the L allliteration. February 28, 2026 at 9:04 am #316870 Jonathan CappsKeymaster And yet she still bullies me February 28, 2026 at 9:05 am #316871 MoonlightParticipant So is this “Luke,” like the name, or “Nuke,” as the Tongue Tied wiki insists? Discuss. Red Dwarf finally has its “Hydrocity vs. Hydro City” debate. February 28, 2026 at 9:56 am #316872 WarbodogParticipant Son of Soup: Fix it, Capps. If you’re not too busy. February 28, 2026 at 10:17 am #316873 DaveParticipant Red Dwarf finally has its “Hydrocity vs. Hydro City” debate. I thought that was Cinzano Bianco-gate. February 28, 2026 at 1:47 pm #316882 TechnopeasantParticipant Son of Soup: Fix it, Capps. If you’re not too busy. February 28, 2026 at 4:36 pm #316885 Jonathan CappsKeymaster Who the fuck is called Nuke anyway February 28, 2026 at 4:39 pm #316886 Quinn: Clochebusters World ChampionParticipant Who this fuck is called Nuke anyway Maybe his parents wanted to call him Luke but had a cold when registering his birth February 28, 2026 at 5:23 pm #316891 MeteoParticipant Yes, I do. February 28, 2026 at 6:21 pm #316893 International DebrisParticipant Who the fuck is called Nuke anyway Nuke Dukem. February 28, 2026 at 10:59 pm #316902 TechnopeasantParticipant March 2, 2026 at 12:01 am #316937 loadoftottnumbParticipant Just to be incredibly helpful and add another option to the mix, Beeb reckons it’s Duke, which sounds right to me. March 2, 2026 at 1:41 am #316940 MoonlightParticipant I’m just going to trust that Warbo isn’t fucking with me because I am too lazy to dig Son of Soup off my bookshelf. March 2, 2026 at 5:02 am #316942 TechnopeasantParticipant Is it possible he meant both of them are named Frank? March 2, 2026 at 5:46 am #316943 WarbodogParticipant Capps changed my one right away. Maybe just ask more nicely? March 2, 2026 at 11:48 am #316952 Ben SaundersParticipant Duke makes sense. Ain’t nobody in the old west called Nuke. March 2, 2026 at 12:00 pm #316953 DaveParticipant It’s short for Anouk, clearly Nuke was a Dutch woman. March 2, 2026 at 12:28 pm #316955 WarbodogParticipant Ain’t nobody in the old west called Nuke. Kryten’s robo-subconscious made some names and concepts metaphorical, maybe Nuke and some of the background saloon patrons were clues he skipped. The novel version has a bit more of that Terrorform-style stuff. March 2, 2026 at 12:29 pm #316956 Jonathan CappsKeymaster Capps changed my one right away. Maybe just ask more nicely? I’m a new man. Maybe I’ll try changing only one word at a time so it’s not a giant To-Do pile. March 3, 2026 at 2:20 am #316967 TechnopeasantParticipant Change it by one letter each go. March 6, 2026 at 9:24 pm #317097 MoonlightParticipant Quinn and I confirmed that the nonsense binary Kryten gives in Terrorform that doesn’t sound anything like real binary is accurately transcribed by the subtitles. Wasted like 10 minutes on that. They should’ve committed to the bit and plastered idiot boards over the whole studio reading: 01000100 01101111 01101110 00100111 01110100 00100000 01110011 01110100 01100001 01101110 01100100 00100000 01100001 01110010 01101111 01110101 01101110 01100100 00100000 01101010 01100001 01100010 01100010 01100101 01110010 01101001 01101110 01100111 00100000 01110111 01101000 01100101 01101110 00100000 01111001 01101111 01110101 00100111 01110010 01100101 00100000 01101001 01101110 00100000 01101101 01101111 01110010 01110100 01100001 01101100 00100000 01100100 01100001 01101110 01100111 01100101 01110010 00101110 March 6, 2026 at 11:33 pm #317098 Ben SaundersParticipant That’s in the extended 35-minute cut. That’s the only addition March 6, 2026 at 11:37 pm #317101 WarbodogParticipant March 25, 2026 at 1:08 pm #317774 Ben SaundersParticipant I guess they can’t render the O March 25, 2026 at 4:18 pm #317784 Jonathan CappsKeymaster Turns out that was a character error in the database and not the font. March 25, 2026 at 7:09 pm #317791 Nick RParticipant Ah! I think that Mot▯rhead solves the mystery of what I was probably referring to in my first post: Also, I’m sure I saw one not long ago where a stray “&” or “ ” or “▯” turned up. But now I’ve forgotten where I saw it and – despite ctrl+F-ing a lot of episodes’ pages – can’t find it again. :( March 25, 2026 at 10:24 pm #317808 RudolphParticipant Who the fuck is called Nuke anyway April 1, 2026 at 4:27 pm #318095 Ben SaundersParticipant So what is it? é or no é? April 1, 2026 at 4:36 pm #318097 DaveParticipant Amusingly, both are wrong as it should be derrière. April 1, 2026 at 5:17 pm #318100 MoonlightParticipant April 1, 2026 at 9:21 pm #318109 Ben SaundersParticipant From the way those screenshots line up it looks like if you search for one you get the other, but that’s not the case, searching for derriere as I did only shows the Kyrsis result, which I was not looking for April 14, 2026 at 11:53 am #318645 Flap JackParticipant Uhhh… the “(ON MONITOR)” part should be before the colon? Yeah, that’s arguably an error, why not. Author Replies Viewing 50 replies - 1 through 50 (of 65 total) 1 2 Scroll to top • Scroll to Recent Forum Posts You must be logged in to reply to this topic.
