I’m sure The Mirror’s columnists have had a few in their time. It’s not exactly breaking news and isn’t surprising given Craig’s publicity in recent years. He got legless nightly shooting Red Dwarf for probably most if not all the series. He still turns up and hits his marks, remembers his and everyone else’s lines. So what, he got caught drunk, falling over. What celebrity doesn’t in this day and age. We are in the age of repression I suppose. Shame The Mirror can’t follow all those Eastender stars who ‘shame’ themselves. They seem to be devoted to Craig. Quite scary indeed.

What’s making me piss myself about this is how it was at Bowness-on-Windermere, somewhere I’ve been a heck of a lot. I actually know someone who has a boat up there. A while ago they had trouble with people nicking all the little boats tied up at the marina that people use to row out to their own boats. The guy I know had to drive all the way back home after arriving there and not being able to get to his boat (they got there quite late so there was no-one there to take them out to it either)! Bastards.

I don’t see what the Mirror are trying to gain with this non-story. Still, raising Craig’s profile (which they ARE, even if it’s a negative story) isn’t a bad thing atm. It’s just a shame they seem to feel they have a kind of responsibility or hold over his behaviour. If someone filmed a Mirror journo doing several lines of coke, it wouldn’t be treated as news. The footage would never be seen.
