No idea if the same is true of their other branches, mind. This follows on from the flyers they had on the wall in there last week, and the ones they were giving away for the “win props” competition. It’s still faintly surreal seeing the show as high-profile as this. April 3, 2009 at 9:40 am #94988 TheLeenParticipant Me too, please. I’ll pay. Ta. April 3, 2009 at 10:35 am #94989 locusceruleusParticipant Very cool, anyone got a pic? April 3, 2009 at 11:13 am #94990 Danny StephensonKeymaster I’m heading into Leeds soon so i’ll try and get hold of one. April 3, 2009 at 11:20 am #94992 Seb PatrickKeymaster I’ll take a pic of mine tonight if you don’t manage it, Danforth. April 3, 2009 at 11:55 am #94993 Danny StephensonKeymaster chances are you’ll get it before me tbh. April 3, 2009 at 12:37 pm #94997 RidleyParticipant No idea if the same is true of their other branches, mind. It is. Got mine on Wednesday while I happened to be wearing my Lister T-Shirt. …which was nice. April 4, 2009 at 9:59 pm #95055 Ben PaddonParticipant I got one this morning. Finally, something I’m in the country for! April 5, 2009 at 7:35 pm #95099 mickParticipant Will have to check out the massive one in Stoke, I buy enough shit there I’m sure I can aquire a carrier bag if they have them. (last time I got a Kurt Russel ‘Thing’ diarama reduced from ?39.99 to ?1!) April 5, 2009 at 8:26 pm #95103 JoParticipant Ian and I got an Inquisitor Headknocker from the Glasgow branch for ?3 :o) April 5, 2009 at 8:32 pm #95104 Mister EParticipant I got the Fearless Lister headknocker for ?2 from the Edinburgh one. It then subsequently fell off my unit and broke. Bollocks. April 5, 2009 at 10:08 pm #95111 Ben PaddonParticipant I wanted a Kryten and Lister headknocker but they’d sold out and they refused to sell me the ones in the window for fear of ruining their (admittedly pretty fucking awesome) Red Dwarf display. April 6, 2009 at 6:35 am #95145 locusceruleusParticipant I bought the Starbug ‘playset’ at the one in Leeds years ago, in a moment of insanity. About 42 quid I believe. Anyway the cheap plastic legs on it broke pretty much fucking instantly, and I’ve never bought a collectable since. *sulks* April 6, 2009 at 7:32 am #95149 Mr FlibbleParticipant The question is – does anyone own a Starbug playset without broken legs? I’ve always treated mine very carefully and it sits on a shelf in my room… with its broken leg. April 6, 2009 at 8:01 am #95150 peas_and_cornParticipant In BtE they should have Starbug crash, breaking one of its legs. April 6, 2009 at 8:27 am #95153 Seb PatrickKeymaster I bought all three headknockers (not including the Dibbley one) for a fiver at the Birmingham Comics Show last year – Nostalgia & Comics/Worlds Apart had a stall there with shitloads of the things, and they kept coming down in price every time I walked past. Eventually, when they were two quid each, I went for a Kryten and an Inquisitor, and the woman pleaded with me to take a Lister as well, saying I could have the lot for a fiver if so. So I did. April 6, 2009 at 8:43 am #95154 JoParticipant >and the woman pleaded with me to take a Lister as well, saying I could have the lot for a fiver if so. So I did. I bet she’s regretting that now :o) April 6, 2009 at 11:38 am #95158 mickParticipant >The question is – does anyone own a Starbug playset without broken legs? Me, my playset has never left It’s box. April 6, 2009 at 12:10 pm #95161 Dee CookeParticipant >Me, my playset has never left It?s box. Neither has mine, but it still managed to break its leg while sitting on a shelf. I’ve glued it back together though. April 6, 2009 at 3:30 pm #95172 siParticipant > The question is – does anyone own a Starbug playset without broken legs? We used my ‘Bug in ‘Afternoon of the Polymorph’, my Fan Film for the series VII DVD. It got broken, so I made the ‘Director’ (Rob, my German housemate – we never really got on, and he wasn’t a particularly big fan of Red Dwarf – on reflection, perhaps not the best choice) buy it off me, as he was the one who broke it. Finally got round to buying a replacement about two years later. It arrived, I opened it with care, had a little play – as you do – then placed it back on it’s plastic stand on it’s ‘landing bay’, and put it on a high shelf in the bedroom, where no harm could come to it. Then my brother walked in from college, said, ‘Oh, has it come?’, tugged it down from the shelf, where it fell from it’s box onto the floor…and broke the leg. Re: other stuff – Specialist store, The Sheffield Space Centre, had the Sevans (sp?) model of Kryten for ages, which I kept meaning to buy, but never got round to. That, and the little models of Rimmer and Duane Dibbley were there for *years*, but by the time I returned from Uni in the mood to buy them, they had gone… April 6, 2009 at 4:05 pm #95176 locusceruleusParticipant If only I hadn’t listened to a certain website that said “Buy it, it really is worth it!” April 6, 2009 at 4:23 pm #95179 siParticipant And none of the sound chips worked, did they? April 6, 2009 at 4:36 pm #95182 locusceruleusParticipant Mine didn’t. It was a piece of shit really. Bah. *throws remains of Starbug at the wall* April 6, 2009 at 5:03 pm #95184 siParticipant No, no. Aesthetically, it was a beautiful thing. April 6, 2009 at 8:44 pm #95214 locusceruleusParticipant You must think Heather Mills is gorgeous. April 6, 2009 at 11:01 pm #95228 Seb PatrickKeymaster >If only I hadn?t listened to a certain website that said ?Buy it, it really is worth it!? But it’s fucking lovely. The lack of a decent explanation over the sound chip issue (or, rather, the lack of acknowledgement that there was an issue of any significance) is probably my major gripe with Those There Dwarf Lot over recent years… but honestly, it was worth the cost of it (well, my sister got it me for Christmas, but still) for the model alone. It’s terrific. April 7, 2009 at 7:19 pm #95316 Mister EParticipant Probably nothing of particular interest, but FP Edinburgh, whilst not having BtE-themed bags as far as I’m aware, did have a big pile of leaflets for the prop competition. April 6, 2011 at 7:34 am #111631 JoParticipant Aluma wallet you say? April 6, 2011 at 9:40 am #111730 Jonathan CappsKeymaster SingingPotato isn’t talking to herself here, by the way, there was some spam that I’ve now DESTROYED WITH MY MASSIVE POWERS. April 6, 2011 at 9:56 am #111731 Ian SymesKeymaster Stop covering for her. It’s clearly the stress of organising DJ (and living with me for nearly four years) that’s driven her to talking to herself in two year old threads.
