The new edition of UKGameshows’ weekly column Weaver’s Week confirms the cancellation of Scrapheap (towards the bottom of the page), buried as it was under the [sarcasm mode] headline-worthy [sarcasm mode cancelled] news that Celebrity Big Brother will also not be returning. All part of Channel 4’s ‘creative renewal’ – which is possibly PR-speak for ‘let’s see how many new and “edgy” programmes we can make this year’.

We’ve known it was coming since they managed to only broadcast half of the last series, but still…
