Howdy doodly do, folks! As we’ve now had 2 weeks of the Difficult Daily, I thought it might be prudent to move discussions of the day’s puzzle and our scores to a dedicated thread, so we’re not just bloating the comments of the “Reintroducing Smegle” post all the time. Let that be for more general feedback (or bug reports).

And of course, if you get any share-worthy frames in Casual Continuous, feel free to post those here too!

Somewhat tricky, but once I’d got the right series I felt confident I could narrow it down enough not to fail.

Also, what do you think: should this thread be spoiler-free, or not? I’m leaning towards not – because I generally prefer to do the Difficult Daily myself before hearing about others’ scores anyway, and it would be cool to speak openly without having to wait until the next day – but only if there’s consensus on it.

Pretty clueless guesses for the first couple, on reveal 3 it looked like at least two people in 20th century clothing strolling along, had to be Backwards

That was easy.

how many series 1-8 episodes have a direct outside shot of a pavement with a street lamp in them? Maybe only this and Tikka and the picture quality wasn’t Tikka. And I’ve only just considered Tikka an option.

First guess was Rimmerworld as I thought that looked like the wall of Rimmer’s cell behind Kryten in the first square, so I was quite lucky to get the right series off the bat. I did think it looked like VI Kryten though to be fair. I don’t recognise that big green pipe.

A case of ‘wrong equation right answer’ again – it felt distinctly cave-like (I guess the bits of shinier plastic made me think ‘damp’) and put me in mind of the dungeon in Rimmerworld, then the GELF house.  Zooming in I see now it’s an interior Starbug wall!

Finally had a sense of who they were talking to when I was down to two episodes. Kryten not sharing Lister’s eyeline didn’t help.

Yeah, this took some doing and I still don’t really recognise the scene.

Went Last Day with no real confidence, then Inquisitor (thinking it MIGHT be the sceve where they’re sat chained together), but still didn’t really believe it. 

Then i got the exact scene. Think it was a combination of the background and the direction they’re looking

Tricky colours. I was thinking of the prison uniforms in VIII so went for Cassandra first. Didn’t even recognise Kryten from the first square.

Those colours completely threw me off, and basically completely lied. But the second reveal made clear it was a series 3 Kryten, but I went for Timeslides first just on a punt. Thankfully the part of Rimmer reveal made it obvious.

First square I thought was part of Cassandra’s hair. Then just had a punt on Inquisitor (the force field when being erased from history). Took me a good long while to see it for what it was but that was pretty difficult.
