I’m sure most people would like to see a Mini Carbug accompany the set (myself included), but how about a replica of something? Replica anything is good in my book, as long as the quality is high. So, polaroids from the bunkroom, perhaps? Folded London Jets/Mugs Murphy poster? Postcard from listerscominghome.co.uk? April 15, 2009 at 4:11 pm #96886 JamesTCParticipant A model of the new Dwarf would be nice. April 15, 2009 at 4:48 pm #96902 clemParticipant We might get the TOO WEIRD FOR WORDS poster as seen in part 2. > A london jets or a mugs murphy t-shirt needs to be made. Somehow. Yes. I would absolutely love a Mugs Murphy t-shirt. Do people want the DVD cover art to look like it did in Back to Earth? Looked a bit dull to me, to be honest. Would something similar to the 8 series DVDs be inappropriate? Lister painting the Rovers Return? April 15, 2009 at 4:51 pm #96905 PhilParticipant >Do people want the DVD cover art to look like it did in Back to Earth? Reversible cover would be nice. One side could be the “as seen on TV” version, and the other could be a nicer, more interesting design. The best of both worlds. April 15, 2009 at 5:48 pm #96912 Danny StephensonKeymaster HA! That’s brilliant. April 15, 2009 at 5:53 pm #96913 hummingbirdParticipant The reversible cover is a great idea – one side to match the cover in BtE and one to coordinate with the rest of the RD DVDs, please. April 15, 2009 at 6:03 pm #96915 SomebodyParticipant Thing is though, the packaging as-seen-in-BtE was a slipcased digipak, rather than a standard amaray case. If you want screen-accuracy, a reversable cover won’t do :) [Maybe they could do a packaging variant – exclusive to play.com or somesuch – and eke out a few more sales that way…] April 15, 2009 at 6:14 pm #96917 NoFroParticipant I liked the design of the one in the episode. It’s big, basic, black cardboardy goodness makes it look special (and it is) and if I hadn’t seen Red Dwarf before, I would definitely be intrigued by the box if I saw it in an HMV or whatever. The amount of uneeded detail on it, and the fact it has a cardboard case when all the others are standard, also seems to suggest that this will be the design. Why else design it like that when it would’ve been much easier to just replace a sleeve on a DVD? However the cover (WITH all the unreadable writing at the bottom) seems to be exactly the same as what would be under both discs, which is odd and makes me doubt it a bit. I don’t think it needs to be the same as the rest but have no problem if it is. April 15, 2009 at 6:32 pm #96922 MnoooahParticipant Ha, wow, P2P, can we get lister in wallpaper size?! Why else design it like that when it would?ve been much easier to just replace a sleeve on a DVD? It looks like a cheaply made prop to me – the images behind the disc holders are the same as the cover, you can see from the second image above that it’s shoddily built and flimsy as hell. It’s a prop. And as Andrew has said in the past, “it depends what case deal we are given”. Just tried blowing it up to 800×600, but it looked very blocky and low-res. :-( April 15, 2009 at 7:43 pm #96932 MnoooahParticipant Bugger.
