It’s actually a very nice prop. Always liked the lager can being central.

It’s weird, in the history of portal generators in Red Dwarf, the one in Only The Good… was an excellent prop but the effect was a bit meh (though I’ll forgive it for that, it was the late 90’s) and the one in BTE had a very snazzy effect, and I liked the ragdoll crew, but the prop was obviously cobbled together from a visit to Argos and Halfords, which again, given the budget I can forgive it for, just think it’s interesting to compare and contrast.

Propwise, the Holly Hop Drive knocks the socks off the dimensional portals in Only the Good… and Back to Earth.
