I’ve always been curious about this video.

Firstly what is whoever owns the copyright playing at? Are they holding out for a better offer? Where do they think that is likely to come from?

Secondly does anyone know if it’s ‘out there’ somewhere on the internet? I’ve tried YouTube but found nothing.

I’ve got a VHS copy. Have never watched it but seen it at DJ. It’s not brilliant…

The released version has the most random intro rhythm pattern…

But. Dave has got a point, though. What’s the issue in question, Andrew? Royalty problem maybe?

We’ve wanted to include the video/short film/making of since Series II, but back then money was even tighter. We’d really hoped to see the single, at least, be included in Bodysnatcher’s Tongue Tied Archive this time – if not the video, then at least the audio track.

The owners are EMI. At least, that’s what the record sleeves say, and what Danny’s contract says. EMI, meanwhile, don’t seem to remember it at all and so can’t do a deal. It’s crazy, and very similar to what happened with the American promo, but it’s left us unable to obtain any clearance for release.

We tried, though. We really, really did.

Maybe they’re just embarrassed, but warts and all I would love to see this.

I don’t think the track’s bad at all. The short film’s weak, but the actual video – for a no-money job – looks glossy as hell.

I’ve come to really like his version of the theme tune – silly movie samples or not, it builds to a really ‘big’ start…which for some reason I get totally sucked in by. I’d have loved to see it used on the show for one ep.

It’s weird that it’s not as straight-forward as paying licensing fees to people who know their own back catalogue.

I tried selling my tongue tied vid on eGhey about a month back, went unsold for 99p.
When I flogged my spare one in 2000 I got 30 quid for it! :-/
