Reminds me of the Red Dwarf model in the Captain’s Office. August 20, 2012 at 2:08 pm #117272 Paul MullerParticipant Yeah it’s nice, but I think 300 quid is a bit steep. Also, i’m fairly sure the ‘Red Dwarf’ sign on the far side of the model shouldn’t be sat near the exhaust. August 20, 2012 at 2:09 pm #117266 Paul MullerParticipant Or should it? I don’t know anything for sure any more. August 20, 2012 at 2:41 pm #117268 Danny StephensonKeymaster I’m sure we’ve had a thread talking about the other side of the ship, how we never see it? It coudl well be there, it’s an interesting idea, it;s like a number plate, one at the front, one at the back. August 20, 2012 at 2:45 pm #117269 JimboidParticipant 300 quid?! Do me a lemon. August 20, 2012 at 3:55 pm #117265 ori-STUDFARMParticipant I don’t like it August 20, 2012 at 4:29 pm #117253 mickParticipant With anything like this you can never expect to get anywhere near the amount of money to cover time and effort put in. For a while I built and sold replica Ghostbusters props on eBay, the selling price would usually be just over the cost of materials, but the appreciation of the people buying was always worth the bother. I think this chap is being a tad unrealistic. August 21, 2012 at 12:03 pm #117516 bosskParticipant I ask the court who would spoof 300 on such an item? Who? Only a yogurt! Wayy pricey but I really love the look of it and it’s as it should’ve been produced in my opinion. This has inspired me to attempt my own custom job in future. Looks the bollocks to me (I would omit the second arse-side ‘Red Dwarf’ sign) I bought a corgi starbug model and this is the only reason I would ever have any desire to buy corgi’s remastered-pencil-penis-whatever version only to chop it down and build ontop of. Respect to the modeller though August 22, 2012 at 9:03 pm #117648 SomebodyParticipant > Also, i’m fairly sure the ‘Red Dwarf’ sign on the far side of the model shouldn’t be sat near the exhaust. > Or should it? I don’t know anything for sure any more. It would have been obvious in the title-sequence fly-by if there had been such a sign. August 22, 2012 at 9:13 pm #117646 Danny StephensonKeymaster Correct me if i’m wrong, but you only ever see the ‘right’ side of the ‘clenched-fist’ ship (if the ship is heading away from you), yeah? We only ever saw the left side in BTE when the ship was heading ‘home’. Yeah, that was a major design flaw. If they’d thought of that, Lister wouldn’t have to be constantly touching up the paint job. August 24, 2012 at 4:00 pm #117150 bosskParticipant sold for £50! probably a good price (I’d get skelped upside the head spending like that though) but like mike said above money to cover time and effort put in – labour of love kind of thing. August 24, 2012 at 6:02 pm #117141 mickParticipant I’ve been contemplating building my own model, around 4′ length wise, mainly as all the larger DIY models I’ve seen about the place look like ass.
