It still holds up great, and it’s interesting to compare it to The Thick Of It (which I also did a full rewatch of just before that). It’s a great example of cracking writing being elevated even higher by the performances. Everything just works. Sir Arnold is able to get away scot-free with advising Hacker’s predecessor as PM to shoot striking workers and he ends up heading the Campaign for Freedom of Information – the latter is purely so he can stifle the opponents of the established way of things while pretending to have defected.
