I’d presume a last minute schedule change… except this was a premiere run of Shooting Stars, and the list of episodes on Wikipedia tallies with the Radio Times. Hmm. (Also I’ve noticed whilst writing this that G&T also have a different continuity announcement for “Beyond a Joke” compared to the other video – the latter’s refers to Buzzcocks following it so G&T’s must also be for the repeat run) Creator Topic Viewing 5 replies - 1 through 5 (of 5 total) Author Replies September 18, 2016 at 8:22 pm #216067 (deleted)Participant There was definitely a repeat run of Smell Of series 2 on Sunday nights at the very start of 1997 if that helps, much later on the nights of the same-week VII repeats. I remember it being on too late to see it and really wanting to watch it as I loved Shooting Stars. Had it not been for the Sunday repeats I’d never have seen Beyond A Joke, and I didn’t see Stoke Me A Clipper until the autumn repeat when I made a proper offair tape. Thinking back, I didn’t see V (minus Back To Reality), Psirens or Legion until after VIII had gone out, and then only on UK Gold. Entirely the result of the VHS deletions. And I didn’t see the non-Remastered versions of series 2 and 3 until the DVDs. Shit fan, me. I came in at Tikka and struggled to catch up for years. I remember it being on too late to see it and really wanting to watch it as I loved Shooting Stars. Ah, that’d explain it – I’d assumed the Smell clip was promoting what was on after RD. Mystery solved! Incidentally, the BBC Genome can also apparently identify what this piece of mystery continuity is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTYrxy2MuGY It would appear to be for this repeat of “Out of Time”, which was indeed followed by a HIGNFY clip show: http://genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/schedules/bbctwo/england/1996-12-20#at-21.30 September 18, 2016 at 8:33 pm #216070 cwickhamParticipant …Wait, that doesn’t explain it at all, it *does* say that Smell is on in half an hour, even though the Radio Times and Wikipedia have it that Shooting Stars was on instead. I’m an idiot. September 18, 2016 at 8:37 pm #216071 cwickhamParticipant Wait, I think I’ve got it now (apologies for the multiple posts but it won’t let me edit the previous ones): G&T’s clips are for the Sunday repeats of the first broadcasts, not for the repeat run later in the year. There, sorted. Author Replies Viewing 5 replies - 1 through 5 (of 5 total) Scroll to top • Scroll to Recent Forum Posts You must be logged in to reply to this topic.
