Smegazine – The Complete Collection

Very impressive indeed. I like the idea of having them bound.
Although the pedantic twat in me wouldn’t have put the Remastered stuff on it.

Or the Dave ship travelling really fast.

The design for Red Dwarf on the first issue has some resemblance to the Re-Dwarf.

The design for Starbug on the first issue has little resemblance to any Starbug.

Lee Evans looks good as Rimmer though Si.

Some of the art was great, I thought. I moan about the Issue 1 cover, but I liked a lot of Jon Rushby’s stuff, in the Future Echoes strips especially. Kev F Sutherland did a funny Androids strip, and there was much to study when working out how to draw Kryten’s head properly – where the lines on his head are, how his chin and mouth work. Lots of nice things, and sometimes experimental stuff. The Jake Bullet strip was great.

Yes, I was surprised at some of the visual differences, too.
And Rimmer’s line “Git”, about halfway through. In the episode, he says it quietly, almost under his breath, as Lister leaves.
In the magazine, it’s the final panel of the issue’s strip, and it becomes a loud exclamation shouted at him.

I did really like that Grant Naylor finely got their wish for Rimmer to be monochromatic.
