The most successful being Novo Babylonia, which is basically a Babylon 5 drama, but set years after the TV show left off. They are doing a one off audiodrama set around the Red Dwarf crew that they are hoping to have out in time for the Dave specials. (Although they are running behind) I will post the link once it is all up and released. They have various projects that have been shelved due to lack of people to help. If anyone fancies voicing, writing or helping out in any other way go to http://www.fictionshed.com. They are eagerly trying to find someone who can do a plausible Rimmer impression. March 8, 2009 at 3:30 am #93363 Seb PatrickKeymaster I look forward to seeing what GNP make of this. March 8, 2009 at 9:35 am #93370 Ben PaddonParticipant I’d voice Kryten, or perhaps Rimmer, only I don’t want to jeopardise my chances of actually getting to appwar in an episode of Red Dwarf in the futuoh I’m sorry but I can’t finish typing this sentence with a straight face. March 8, 2009 at 12:20 pm #93381 ori-STUDFARMParticipant When I say they I mean they. Nothing to do with me, I just eat up podcasts. I listen at work and Fictionshed makes up a fraction of the 60 hours I get through at work. I’d try to voice myself but I’ve got a very low monotone voice and I’d just ruin it! Posted cause I thought someone may have been interested. March 8, 2009 at 12:22 pm #93383 siParticipant No, sorry. We like the proper stuff. March 8, 2009 at 12:24 pm #93385 ori-STUDFARMParticipant Well there are some that just eat up anything Dwarf. Someone may be interested. March 8, 2009 at 1:31 pm #93390 Mr FlibbleParticipant We don’t *like* fanfic round here! Or muffins! etc. March 8, 2009 at 1:51 pm #93392 ori-STUDFARMParticipant Muffins are okay…I won’t hear of it! As long as they’re choccy chippyied!! March 8, 2009 at 6:14 pm #93409 hummingbirdParticipant What’s wrong with a good old English muffin, that’s what I want to know? No choccie chips in them. March 8, 2009 at 6:16 pm #93410 ori-STUDFARMParticipant I see I’ve joined the wrong forum for me. Muffins have choccy chippies!! I thought English muffins were what you called them Chav girls with jeans tighter than thier fat asses!! March 8, 2009 at 6:28 pm #93412 Ian SymesKeymaster No, they’re Muffin Tops. English muffins are the sort of muffins you toast and have with lashes of butter and perhaps a bit of cheese. March 8, 2009 at 6:29 pm #93413 hummingbirdParticipant http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_muffin March 8, 2009 at 6:43 pm #93416 ori-STUDFARMParticipant What does Wiki know! They’re crumpets, not muffins…….or are they scones!! March 8, 2009 at 6:48 pm #93417 hummingbirdParticipant *insert Talkie Toaster line here* March 8, 2009 at 8:04 pm #93423 AnonymousInactive Insert is an absolutely foul word. March 8, 2009 at 8:38 pm #93428 Ian SymesKeymaster They?re crumpets, not muffins No, crumpets and muffins are very different things. Observe: Fig 1. A muffin. Fig 2. A crumpet. March 8, 2009 at 8:58 pm #93431 JamesTCParticipant You should write a book about it. March 8, 2009 at 8:59 pm #93432 hummingbirdParticipant > Insert is an absolutely foul word. It all depends on what you’re inserting. And where. March 8, 2009 at 11:30 pm #93455 Seb PatrickKeymaster >Fig 2. A crumpet. March 9, 2009 at 2:51 am #93463 BlisschickParticipant You’ve seen one hot bready item, you’ve seen them all. March 9, 2009 at 3:05 am #93464 pfmParticipant I quickly scrolled down and thought I had well and truly lost it seeing the pics of the crumpet and muffin. March 9, 2009 at 8:02 am #93468 Arlene Rimmer BSc SScParticipant Those muffins make good little breakfast sandwiches if you fry up an egg and/or some sausage to go in ’em. They’re also good with jelly, peanut butter, butter with a sprinkling of garlic powder (this one is great with spaghetti), or Nutella on them. (Just don’t combine those with the egg and sausage. I can’t imagine anything good coming out of that.) I wonder if crumpets are good for all those things. Or are they more sweet than savory? I ask this from a part of the world where muffins such as those pictured are plentiful but crumpets appear nonexistent (or at any rate hard to find). Also: how in hell did this discussion get to this point? March 9, 2009 at 8:20 am #93470 Ian SymesKeymaster Those muffins make good little breakfast sandwiches if you fry up an egg and/or some sausage to go in ?em. You are Ronald McDonald, and I claim my five pounds. I wonder if crumpets are good for all those things. Or are they more sweet than savory? Like most bread products, they’re fairly neutral in terms of the sweet/savoury divide, and can be used as a base for pretty much anything. I like mine with a bit of cream cheese, or Marmite, or jam (which you wrongly refer to as jelly), or when I’m feeling particularly adventurous, Marmite *and* jam. Also: how in hell did this discussion get to this point? I don’t know, but it’s infinitely more interesting than the original topic. March 9, 2009 at 8:35 am #93472 Arlene Rimmer BSc SScParticipant Cream cheese and jam (around here, I think either the terms “jelly” and “jam” are interchangeable or there’s a specific use of each that nobody ever remembers; I’m not sure. Maybe “preserves” works better…) can go pretty well together too, incidentally. I’ve tried it once or twice. Also good once you’ve buttered it: cinnamon and sugar. …You’re right, this is more interesting than the initial subject. March 9, 2009 at 8:38 am #93473 Ian SymesKeymaster Cream cheese and jam sounds disgusting, but stranger things have happened. Singingpotato insists on having cream cheese and strawberries on bagels. March 9, 2009 at 12:39 pm #93484 Mr FlibbleParticipant Have you seen the Smooth squeezy jam? Squeezy jam was exciting enough, but the smooth stuff is like thick strawberry puree and is delicious. March 9, 2009 at 4:40 pm #93506 JoParticipant >Singingpotato insists on having cream cheese and strawberries on bagels. Because it’s LOVELY! :o) March 9, 2009 at 5:26 pm #93512 hummingbirdParticipant crumpets and houmous, mmmmmmm … March 9, 2009 at 5:33 pm #93513 JoParticipant Really??? March 9, 2009 at 5:42 pm #93514 Jonathan CappsKeymaster Humous is the Devil’s seamen. March 9, 2009 at 5:48 pm #93516 Danny StephensonKeymaster Capps, i’ve got to ask otherwise it’ll drive me nuts. What the fuck is that in your avatar? March 9, 2009 at 5:51 pm #93518 Jonathan CappsKeymaster It’s a tiny wooden owl: http://twitpic.com/1won7 March 9, 2009 at 5:54 pm #93520 Danny StephensonKeymaster Is it your tiny wooden owl? Or have you just found it? March 9, 2009 at 5:55 pm #93521 Jonathan CappsKeymaster It’s my mum’s! I found it sticking out of a hanging basket a few weeks ago. March 9, 2009 at 8:29 pm #93527 hummingbirdParticipant > Humous is the Devil?s seamen. Did you really mean satanic sailors? March 9, 2009 at 9:16 pm #93530 Tanya JonesParticipant I hated houmous when I first tried it, but now I’m addicted to it. Lemon and coriander houmous is probably my favourite… March 9, 2009 at 9:21 pm #93531 Mr FlibbleParticipant I find Red Dwarf a houmous show. March 9, 2009 at 10:52 pm #93533 JoParticipant >I hated houmous when I first tried it, but now I?m addicted to it. Lemon and coriander houmous is probably my favourite? I LOVE houmous but I can’t have it now due to it’s citrus content *cry* March 9, 2009 at 11:24 pm #93538 hummingbirdParticipant Home-made is dead easy, I’m sure you could make some without lemon juice. March 9, 2009 at 11:31 pm #93539 hummingbirdParticipant lemon juice-free recipe http://vegbox-recipes.co.uk/recipes/chickpea-recipe-1.php March 9, 2009 at 11:41 pm #93540 JoParticipant Aw, Fankoo! :oD *hugs hummingbird* March 10, 2009 at 1:10 am #93541 pfmParticipant > It?s a tiny wooden owl This should be under G&T Recommendations. “It’s a tiny wooden owl.” – Jonathan Capps March 10, 2009 at 9:00 am #93546 peas_and_cornParticipant All this talk of houmous and no mentioons of taramosalata? March 10, 2009 at 5:32 pm #93591 hummingbirdParticipant This is an exclusive houmous and bread-product related thread. What you need is the fish ovulations thread. I’m sure it’s around here somewhere. March 11, 2009 at 12:33 pm #93678 Tarka DalParticipant > We don?t *like* fanfic round here! Or muffins! etc. I like fan-fiction. I just don’t like bad fan-fiction. The problem is that most fan-fiction is bad. Series VIII for me was mostly bad fan-fiction. Oh and just to fit in. I ****ing love Flapjacks. March 11, 2009 at 12:36 pm #93679 Ian SymesKeymaster Series VIII for me was mostly bad fan-fiction. You can call it bad fiction if you want, but I don’t think Doug Naylor is merely a “fan”… March 11, 2009 at 12:40 pm #93682 Tarka DalParticipant I think he let fan opinion drive a lot of the show though. The huge volume of backwards referencing is something that you would find in an awful lot of bad fan-fic. March 11, 2009 at 12:43 pm #93685 DaveParticipant As far I can recall Backwards is never referenced in a later episode. March 11, 2009 at 12:45 pm #93686 Tarka DalParticipant ISWYDT. March 11, 2009 at 12:48 pm #93687 DaveParticipant >ISWYDT Unfortunately I D it wrong. From Demon & Angels: “I tell you one thing: I’ve been to a parallel universe, I’ve seen time running backwards, I’ve played pool with planets and I’ve given birth to twins, but I never thought in my entire life I’d taste an edible Pot Noodle” Author Replies Viewing 50 replies - 1 through 50 (of 51 total) 1 2 Scroll to top • Scroll to Recent Forum Posts You must be logged in to reply to this topic.
