It is awful. He made such lovely telly shows too. Can we have a release of Hart Beat on DVD? Even if it’s just a Best Of?

Beautiful music, of course – but what I love about that is the way it goes into live action halfway through – completely unexpected, and it really works.

Poor sod, that really is awful.

It reminds me of what Barry Cryer said after Humphrey Lyttelton died. I was really sad about Humph passing away, I had the pleasure of meeting him a few times and thought the world of him. But when Barry said on one of the tribute shows that if he had recovered, he almost certainly wouldn’t have been able to play his trumpet anymore, which was his greatest pleasure in life, you kind of think ‘well, maybe it was for the best’. I guess this is the horrible flipside of that.

    I love you.

A couple of thoughts: I forgot that Ol’ Tone always used to be accompanied by some young gorgeous girl. Also someone, somewhere needs to cover that theme tune.

That Music wouldn’t be out of place on a Genesis Mega Drive.

I also noticed on a credit sequence of the show that the animation was done by Charlie Mills and Terry Brain, who were also responsible for Trap Door.

Amazing how the memory works. Haven’t heard that in AGES, and was humming along straight away.

Exactly the same. And I don’t remember it being so very 80s…

So sad about Mr Hart. He always seemed so very lovely (and so very old, even back then..)

    I love the rhyming headline.
