The rest of it is rather fun – a pleasingly bizarre clash between Dwarf and daytime TV, which I think is a fun idea. GO. So a place that puts comedy so highly in there lives, doesn’t get my obvious and balatant goofs, you really need to lighten up. You all have such talent in abstracting every detail in Red Dwarf, and making it your opinion, life isn’t always about opinion, who is wrong, who is right and who agree’s. But if making me look stupid and it makes you happy, then carry on, I have a lifetime of experience. October 2, 2008 at 5:03 pm #85582 PhilParticipant >Dripples? Dribbly nipples? /fap fap fap October 2, 2008 at 5:05 pm #85583 Ian SymesKeymaster But if making me look stupid and it makes you happy, then carry on We don’t have to. October 2, 2008 at 5:06 pm #85585 locusceruleusParticipant Some things just don’t bare up to analysis. October 2, 2008 at 5:06 pm #85586 PhilParticipant Carry On Ganymede and Titan October 2, 2008 at 5:07 pm #85587 JamesParticipant >We don?t have to. Exactly, makes you feel better dosn’t it? October 2, 2008 at 5:07 pm #85588 PhilParticipant /fap fap fap October 2, 2008 at 5:12 pm #85589 Pete Part ThreeParticipant > obvious and balatant goofs An obvious and blatant goof is spelling “Blatant” as “Blantant” (or, um, “Terrorform” as “Terraform”). Is it your actual opinion that Red Dwarf is aimed at 12-15 year olds or was it a slightly unbelievable typo? >But if making me look stupid and it makes you happy, then carry on Does making us look like a bunch of losers who like a children’s programme make you happy? No offence James, but it WAS a really stupid thing to say considering the readership. October 2, 2008 at 5:16 pm #85590 Pete Part ThreeParticipant >Does making us look like a bunch of losers who like a children?s programme make you happy? Before everyone jumps on this, I’d like to retract this bit. There’s a few old children’s programmes I like a lot. October 2, 2008 at 5:17 pm #85591 Jonathan CappsKeymaster James, please, no one is trying to make you look stupid. Everyone on here gets pulled up on things they say if someone doesn’t agree. The fact that three people noticed they misinterpreted one of your comments and apologised for doing so shows that they’re not out to knife you unfairly. October 2, 2008 at 5:21 pm #85593 PhilParticipant >The fact that three people noticed they misinterpreted one of your comments and apologised for doing so shows that they?re not out to knife you unfairly. This is worth noting. It represents the only gesture of good will displayed on Ganymede and Titan since the relaunch and you squandered it! Also, can we get John Hoare banned for creating such an inflammatory thread? October 2, 2008 at 5:25 pm #85594 Jonathan CappsKeymaster > Also, can we get John Hoare banned for creating such an inflammatory thread? I think it’s about time we had him banned. Someone had to say it. October 2, 2008 at 5:40 pm #85602 JamesParticipant To have an opinion is to be serious, to produce a well written opinion is serious, to be silly and stupid it is again to be taken seriously. I’m sorry if my intentions were taken the wrong way. I was 21 when I watched Red Dwarf for the first time, I watched The End because I didn’t fit a demographic, I watched it because it wasn’t directed at me, it was strange, funny and I had never seen amything like it before. So really I could hardly now think it is and was directed at 12 to 15 year olds could I? Really my splurge was to prove that anything can be taken and used to provide an opinion, it can be right or wrong, but it is mainly used to bring down something or someone. Which is fine and like I said to Pete yesterday, I love to read well constructed critique, and he’s one of the best. There you go Ian, more words oooh October 3, 2008 at 8:25 am #85687 Zombie Jim UndeadParticipant I’m massively confused. Ah, so you were trolling. October 3, 2008 at 4:28 pm #85731 JamesParticipant That wasn’t my intent. October 22, 2025 at 10:16 pm #312519 RushyParticipant Danny seems to be doing series 1 Cat in this October 23, 2025 at 5:48 am #312536 Quinn: Clochebusters World ChampionParticipant October 23, 2025 at 5:58 am #312537 RushyParticipant Danny’s appalling performance as Cat Danny arrives as the Cat. I don’t want to talk about this bit. I found these comments funny because it’s the exact same type of performance he gives in series 1. Semi fourth wall breaking, random noises, rambling. I haven’t really noticed any criticism about the way Danny played the role back then, so it’s curious that it’s so offputting for people here. Maybe because it’s meant to be series 6/7-ish so it has the same weirdness about it as the “smooth with a capital smoo” repeat in VIII? I’m not interested in watching CSMS again, but I’m continually reminded of Series 1 Cat by my own cat’s annoying actions, which makes me appreciate the representation even more. I wonder whether it was Rob and/or Doug who grew up with a cat. October 23, 2025 at 6:51 am #312540 RushyParticipant Lmao. I read that there are dispensers with a timer, so you can set it to go off at 3 AM. October 23, 2025 at 7:41 am #312542 WarbodogParticipant Lmao. I read that there are dispensers with a timer, so you can set it to go off at 3 AM. Yeah, but that scene was after he already learned how to use the food dispensers, it would be the same thing. October 23, 2025 at 10:50 am #312546 RidleyParticipant “What’s a DVD extra?” October 23, 2025 at 10:59 am #312548 UnrumbleParticipant Author Replies Viewing 27 replies - 51 through 77 (of 77 total) 1 2 Scroll to top • Scroll to Recent Forum Posts You must be logged in to reply to this topic.
