It’s not my fault if an edited comment defaults to the bottom of the thread ;-) Although it is my fault for not reading the thread properly in the first place. December 21, 2008 at 8:51 am #87765 Ben PaddonParticipant My family are Pagan, so we celebrate Yule on the 21st.. or, really, the weekend nearest the 21st as the 21st is usually a work day. We got lucky this year, really. Traditionally, my Mum will cook a four-course meal on the Saturday night. People will eat, drink, talk, joke, share and enjoy. On the Sunday morning we have a breakfast fry-up, and afterwards we open presents. Last year I missed this tradition because, well, I live in Los Angeles. My Dad and Stepmom, who I currently live with, are Pagan themselves, but they have a very different tradition – they don’t really do anything other than the Winter Solstis circle. Curse of the Were Rabbit later on BBC1 (4.30pm) and a whole new episode on 8.30 (Loaf and Death). Unfortunately I had that one spoilt for me on Den of Geek. Apparently the Ausies got to see it first. December 25, 2008 at 1:04 pm #87849 Jonathan CappsKeymaster Den of Geek spoil everything. December 25, 2008 at 2:22 pm #87853 ChrisMParticipant >Den of Geek spoil everything. Yeah. I like the site a lot, and it’s interesting reading other people’s views on various shows, (even if I disagree.) but you really have to be careful what you read. It’s a shame they don’t provide light* versions for those of us who’d like a taster without the full meal. * ‘lite’ seems to be the spelling people on the net use here. Heh, not even the spell-checker minds it. I’m sticking to the traditional though. December 25, 2008 at 3:12 pm #87854 hummingbirdParticipant I have been boycotting Den of Geek for a long time now. ‘Nuff said. December 25, 2008 at 3:31 pm #87856 Seb PatrickKeymaster Well, thanks. (No, like any site with loads of people working on it, it does have some rubbish writers, and there are ways in which it’s badly run, and the comments system is appalling. But it does have some good writers. Such as this guy.) Why the boycott, incidentally? Just not liking the site generally? Or something specific? December 25, 2008 at 3:42 pm #87857 Ian SymesKeymaster Why the boycott, incidentally? Just not liking the site generally? Or something specific? Why not provide your answer in a list format? I think I’m going to make a point of watching a Moffat Who episode every Xmas from now on too having re-watched ‘Girl in the Fireplace’ this morning. December 25, 2008 at 11:55 pm #87865 Ian SymesKeymaster In two years’ time, you won’t have to re-watch Moffat Who. December 26, 2008 at 10:26 am #87869 Tarka DalParticipant Oh god that’s true. December 28, 2008 at 9:32 pm #87908 CarlitoParticipant Father Ted Christmas Special… awesome tradition for about the first three or four years… having repeated it annually, without fail, for the last 12 years however, it has started to lose its lustre.
