At least Dave has some love for.. Dave. January 23, 2009 at 12:41 am #89448 ChrisMParticipant I never knew Ronnie Barker read for a part. :) And the interspecies fornication (not relating to Ronnie Barker.)? I assume they’re referring to Lister and his ‘gelf bride’, although I thought he scarpered before they, erm, did the deed. (Unlike his Last Human version who passed out after a sip of moonshine and awoke to a… treat. ) January 23, 2009 at 1:14 am #89449 DaveParticipant >At least Dave has some love for.. Dave. “The most popular pastimes have always been ones that males can enjoy alone. Angling, golf and, of course, the all time number one” January 23, 2009 at 3:12 am #89452 MnoooahParticipant Hence my groundbreaking philodsophical treatise: Everything is Basically Porn. January 23, 2009 at 10:29 am #89457 Ian SymesKeymaster I never knew Ronnie Barker read for a part. :) That’s because it’s not true. January 23, 2009 at 12:50 pm #89463 Tarka DalParticipant I wonder where that one came from. January 23, 2009 at 1:37 pm #89468 Jonathan CappsKeymaster Everyone should try the quiz, and try to spot all the horrific mistakes. January 23, 2009 at 2:10 pm #89469 Ian SymesKeymaster I wonder where that one came from. Rob and Doug saying “we wanted someone like Ronnie Barker to play the Captain”. That’s somehow mutated into “Ronnie Barker auditioned for a part”. January 23, 2009 at 2:13 pm #89470 JamesTCParticipant Oh, I thought Ronnie Barker being in it story some how evolved from the story about Craig Charles farting infront of him in an elevator. January 23, 2009 at 3:00 pm #89471 Jonathan CappsKeymaster That was Ronnie Corbett. January 23, 2009 at 3:06 pm #89472 JamesTCParticipant Oh, erm, well you see, erm, I, erm, oh. January 23, 2009 at 3:29 pm #89473 Tarka DalParticipant Ronnie Corbett farted in front of Ronnie Barker in an elevator? Not one of their classic sketches really. January 23, 2009 at 3:44 pm #89476 pfmParticipant The Phantom Lift Farter. It’s interesting that the show’s description says Lister is ‘trapped’ aboard Red Dwarf. Fair enough, he sort of is, but I don’t think I’ve ever looked at it like that. January 23, 2009 at 3:46 pm #89477 JamesTCParticipant I have always looked at is as trapped in deep space and he has to fight the Vidians and the Borg to get home, wait, oh no, I’m thinking of Voyager, what show is this? January 23, 2009 at 3:58 pm #89479 siParticipant I did the quiz, and despite getting them all ‘right’ (give or take the errors mentioned before), it told me I’d got 4 out of ten. Gormless. Yep, got an e-mail from Dave yesterday, and have only just seen it, alerting me to the Production Diary. Officially can’t wait. January 23, 2009 at 4:27 pm #89484 pfmParticipant > what show is this? A show better than that show, that’s for sure. January 23, 2009 at 4:56 pm #89489 JamesTCParticipant >>what show is this? >A show better than that show, that?s for sure. Red Dwarf is better than [insert any show ever made apart from Red Dwarf] too. January 23, 2009 at 5:12 pm #89498 ChrisMParticipant >It?s interesting that the show?s description says Lister is ?trapped? aboard Red Dwarf. Fair enough, he sort of is, but I don?t think I?ve ever looked at it like that. I think the ‘trapped’ thing is particularly relevant in the first two series. Less so later. January 23, 2009 at 6:10 pm #89524 DaveParticipant >I think the ?trapped? thing is particularly relevant in the first two series. Less so later. Or more literal in Series VIII January 23, 2009 at 7:17 pm #89530 PhilParticipant Or not at all in VI/VII. January 23, 2009 at 7:44 pm #89534 ChrisMParticipant >I think the ?trapped? thing is particularly relevant in the first two series. Less so later. Or more literal in Series VIII Yes… I was thinking more of the alone- ‘last man (sort of) in the universe in deep space’ thing. January 23, 2009 at 8:00 pm #89535 Mr FlibbleParticipant In the meantime, we’ve got the whole of Series 2, every Saturday at 9pm to help tide you over. Just Series 2. Series 2 every week? At least they know how to spell Series 2 unlike TOS. January 23, 2009 at 9:39 pm #89536 siParticipant Yes, it says every saturday, and also says that it’s next on on wednesday 4th February… January 23, 2009 at 9:54 pm #89537 Mr FlibbleParticipant Excellent. I’m assuming people at Dave would be grateful for a shoestring budget… January 24, 2009 at 2:57 am #89554 Danny StephensonKeymaster It?s interesting that the show?s description says Lister is ?trapped? aboard Red Dwarf. Fair enough, he sort of is, but I don?t think I?ve ever looked at it like that. I think the ?trapped? thing is particularly relevant in the first two series. Less so later. I did a 10 presentation on Red Dwarf, particularly the first few series and how it manages to work in the science fiction/sitcom genre 2 days ago. I enjoyed doing that. it wasn’t very hard. January 24, 2009 at 3:36 am #89563 MnoooahParticipant A 10 pres… what now? January 24, 2009 at 5:47 pm #89586 Danny StephensonKeymaster sorry a 10 minute presentation, look at the time i wrote that comment, i was tired. January 24, 2009 at 6:27 pm #89594 MnoooahParticipant It’s all good, I thought it was some sort of jargon I wasn’t familliar with. Hope it went over well. January 24, 2009 at 6:46 pm #89603 Danny StephensonKeymaster apparently it was one of the best he’d seen. well worth doing! January 24, 2009 at 6:54 pm #89606 MnoooahParticipant Alright, I’m going to ask it. He who? January 24, 2009 at 6:57 pm #89607 Danny StephensonKeymaster He is Dr Carl Vincent, a professor of music. he’s forgotten more about music than I will ever remember. January 24, 2009 at 7:06 pm #89608 MnoooahParticipant Why were you talking SciFiComedy to a forgetful professor of music? January 24, 2009 at 7:25 pm #89611 hummingbirdParticipant It’s the marijuana gin again. January 24, 2009 at 8:14 pm #89617 Danny StephensonKeymaster Because i’m doing a course in Music Production for Film and TV. So we have classes that deal with understanding the codes and conventions of film and TV. Which is what my presentation was on. Clear? January 24, 2009 at 9:23 pm #89626 MnoooahParticipant Si. *nods* Author Replies Viewing 35 replies - 1 through 35 (of 35 total) Scroll to top • Scroll to Recent Forum Posts You must be logged in to reply to this topic.
