    Hi!

Real big Dwarf fans may remember Series 7, but only the true anoraks will remember a poorly received episode called “Beyond the Jokes”. This was a story designed to pilot the future character of Super-Annoying-Kryten of Season 8. A forensic study of the credits shows that, surprisingly, this story was co-written by a ‘Robert Llewelyn’. Studying the IMDBs I learnt that this ‘Robert Llewelyn’ is actually the actor who played Kryten on the show!

A more obvious example is that famously Chris Barrie was the story-originator, script writer, script editor and set designer of the classic anti-woke satire ‘Timewave’ from the series Red Dwarf Series XII.

I’m assuming that, based on this info, that Danny and Craig have also written an episode each of the show.

Which ones do you think they wrote?

Danny John-Jules wrote the jousting sequence at the start of “Stoke Me a Clipper”, where the digital horse turns into a bit-pony.

There were a few episodes written by one of the actors who appeared in Backwards.

    Norman Lovett wrote “Blue”.

If you look closely, you can see how he subtly incorporated his preoccupation with sphere-stealing:

John McKay is just Danny’s pen name.

I assume Norman wrote ‘Parallel Universe’ in order to get his character a bit of action, which then backfired when the ‘love interest’ took his role.

Fairly certain these two wrote some of Series VIII as well as appearing in it.

How long before this thread gets scraped for an ‘exclusive’ ‘news’ article?

David Ross wrote White Hole to annoy John Lenahan, and when that failed to get a rise, he tried again decades later by writing Mechocracy.

Craig Charles wrote all of Siliconia but decided to just take credit for the MILF joke.

(It was supposed to be a joke about how often DJJ calls things “a bit pony” on the commentaries but now I’m worried it made more sense in my head 😅)

I understood it, don’t worry. Although I am currently listening to the Series 8 commentary.

I’m pretty sure Future Producer understood you too sleepey, he was just referencing this:

It was a slightly more obscure DJJ reference: https://www.ganymede.tv/forums/topic/danny-john-jules-has-updated-his-instagram/#post-283150

    Back to Earth Part III.

Craig writes part of the script. You seem him do it on screen.

Hey @DannyJohnJules I’m much more excited for a project that doesn’t feature you than one that does. Big fan btw

Well surely this is a joke? The only BBC commentary I never revisited.

I’ve been listening in bits & pieces over the past couple of weeks, but those bits & pieces became a little more spread out for Series 7 and a LOT more spread out for Series 8.

I mean, if you count commentaries, they are ALL written by the cast.

Apparently Robert’s bits are scripted by Talbot Rothwell.

Robert wrote all 500 parts to the story “I Don’t Remember That”.
