Also… one of the men in the cage – Liam Neeson or not? I spotted him straight away and thought it was, but the internet seems divided on whether it’s him or not since it’s been neither confirmed nor denied by the GoT/B&D people. May 29, 2012 at 8:24 am #116618 TheLeenParticipant That was good. I want more. May 29, 2012 at 8:41 am #116613 Jonathan CappsKeymaster > I want more. Lucky for you (and everyone else) the finale is about 10 minutes longer than normal. May 29, 2012 at 3:46 pm #116614 ori-STUDFARMParticipant And running a week too late!! I’m on holiday for a fortnight at the weekend and will have to wait 3 weeks for the finale…I’ll have to console myself with cocktails at the poolside bar! May 29, 2012 at 11:19 pm #116604 Jonathan CappsKeymaster THAT DOLL IS FUCKING CREEPY, EDDARD, YOU STUPID FUCK. June 5, 2012 at 8:14 pm #116642 Jonathan CappsKeymaster YES. This season may have given short shrift to alot of characters, but I thought this wrapped everything up very well. Dany especially was AWESOME, and it was great seeing her dragons get their first kill. With their increased screen time and Shaggydog and Summer being shown more, I’m glad they held back some of the CG budget for this episode, even it meant we didn’t see enough of them for the rest of the season. It was a bit odd suddenly seeing Stannis back at Dragonstone considering the last time we saw him he was on the battlements of King’s Landing. How on Earth did he escape so quickly? And, wow, that last scene was amazing. I really didn’t think we’d see such a big army of undead, but actually getting a proper money shot of a White Walker was AMAZING. God, they look creepy as fuck. Give me season 3 now, please. June 6, 2012 at 2:19 pm #116671 RidleyParticipant Good to see Jason Momoa’s cameo (though it would have been nice if Rhaego had some white in his hair). Glad Jaqen’s change wasn’t a morph. Thought Luwin’s death was a bit limp really, and I agree about Stannis. I’m assuming the razing of Winterfell will get explained more next season as I’ve seen a bunch of people confused. Think I’d be in the same boat if I hadn’t started reading the books. There’s a lot made of the Targaryens inbreeding to keep their bloodlines pure, presumably because the distinctive silver hair is a recessive gene. It makes sense that Drogo’s big, manly, Dothraki genes would dominate. > Thought Luwin’s death was a bit limp really, and I agree about Stannis. Yeah, that whole thing was massively mishandled. I liked Theon getting betrayed, but I assumed that was so the Ironmen could hand him over to the Bastard of Bolton’s men and go home. The show does absolutely nothing to explain why and how Winterfell was then burnt to the ground. June 6, 2012 at 9:58 pm #116681 pfmParticipant Hands up who cried during at least two scenes (mainly Tyrin/Shae). Not me cause I’m a man…who weeps like a child! >.< Class from start to finish. I’m guessing this was meant to be around a week after the Blackwater. At least for the King’s Landing/Dragonstone protagonists. I’m sure the Winterfell situation will be explained in season 3, maybe in flashback. Once they have cast a certain bastard… Theon’s speech was great though. If they expand upon or alter anything next year I hope it’s Theon’s story because, without spoiling anything, he has less to do. If they can have Arya as Tywin’s cupbearer and Shae as Sansa’s handmaiden, surely anything’s possible… June 7, 2012 at 8:18 am #116697 Jonathan CappsKeymaster > Shae as Sansa’s handmaiden This happened in the books, too, didn’t it? But yeah, it’s going to be really interesting how they handle certain stuff next year, especially at what point they split the book in half.
