One of the Gallifrey Gals was moved to tears by Holoship, I don’t know if it happened again.

I don’t think I have. But I only seem to do that when things involve children or animals, and there isn’t a lot of that going on.

The Observation Dome theme is definitely the most emotional thing in Red Dwarf for me. Lovely little motif, and its use in Queeg is what really sells Holly’s goodbye. Even more considering he essentially leaves the very next episode.

The Kennedy assassination in Tikka is probably second-place, it doesn’t make me emotional but it’s very well executed and the score during that segment is superb. If only the Ace Rimmer mass-grave didn’t have that awful CG.

I never really noticed how poignant the dialogue in Holoship was until I saw Gallifrey Gals react to it. Now it does move me.

When I watched Out of Time for the first time, aged seven. I remember being shellshocked all day.

Then during Back To Earth Part Three when Kochanski comes back. And nearly during The Promised Land when Cat says “I *am* home”.

I’m not sure if I actually cried, but if not this is where I came closest:

I can make myself well up just by remembering this scene.

I’m not moved to tears, but no-matter how many times I’ve seen it, I always feel a certain solemnity and tension in my throat & chest during that final scene, as you watch them all snuff it.

I cried when they didn’t let the camera see Kryten’s polaroids in D.N.A.

Even though I am given to crying at telly and that I don’t think Red Dwarf has ever actually made me shed tears. Definitely got a bit snuffly watching the moonlight scene though, and Lister’s “pretty cool” speech in BTE3.

Because I watched all of this shit for the first time at a very young age I can’t really remember if it ever made me cry. Kochanski in Back to Earth, maybe. I felt quite emotional when Rimmer switched to soft-light in Entangled. I would have gotten emotional during Rimmer’s speech in Siliconia if it wasn’t for Cat ruining the scene with his shit jokes. The Moonlight bit maybe but I can’t remember.

Obviously I can still get emotional at Rimmer’s dad dying, Camille or Holoship, and it’s difficult not to feel empowered by Rimmer’s badassery at the end of Out of Time, but I doubt I’m full on crying.
