It’s high concept stuff – various Z list celebrities with not a remaining trace of shame (Vanessa Feltz, Vic Reeves etc) dress in spandex and cycle helmets and stand in front of a swimming pool. A polystyrene wall with a person-shaped hole cut in it (in various poses) is wheeled towards them. They need to position themselved to get through it, or fall in the pool. That’s it. All this is presided over by an ecstatic studio audience and presented by Dale Winton. I am sitting here stunned. It’s like watching a particularly uninspired afternoon of “crazy” activities at Pontins. It’s beyond car-crash television. This is plane-crash. This is the fucking Hindenberg. It’s the Cheeky Girls. September 27, 2008 at 4:58 pm #85086 Ian SymesKeymaster This is brilliant, you pillock. September 27, 2008 at 6:01 pm #85087 Zombie Jim UndeadParticipant In spite of myself, by the end of it I was laughing. Probably because about half way through it reminded me of Takeshi’s Castle, which I love. September 27, 2008 at 6:07 pm #85088 PhilParticipant I haven’t seen it, but I’m assuming it’s a remake of this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ll2kajMH2u0 Funnily enough we just started airing our own version here in America about a week ago. I didn’t watch it though. For…obvious reasons. OK OK, it’s an extremely dumb programme but I’ll be damned if it isn’t entertaining, especially for a family audience. We were round at my parents’ this evening and much enjoyment was had from both this and Merlin (not to mention the anal group sex that followed). I think both shows are designed for people to shout hysterically at the screen. September 28, 2008 at 12:13 am #85107 John HoareParticipant HOW have I missed this? This looks like it was DESIGNED for me! iPlayer here I come… September 28, 2008 at 11:48 am #85114 Seb PatrickKeymaster Haven’t seen it yet, but having Vic Reeves on seems fantastically appropriate. Remember Families at War? Or, hell, most of the games on Shooting Stars? September 28, 2008 at 1:59 pm #85118 Tyrell CorporationParticipant It’s been nearly ten years since Reeves and Mortimer last created a sketch show. I weep. September 28, 2008 at 3:52 pm #85120 Jonathan CappsKeymaster I weep even more at the fact that Mortimer is party responsible for TittyBangBang. But I’m very glad that it did. September 28, 2008 at 3:54 pm #85123 ChrisMParticipant Haven?t seen it yet, but having Vic Reeves on seems fantastically appropriate. Remember Families at War? Did you know that Jonathan Ross and Danny Baker were the original team captains on Shooting Stars?
