OK, so most of that episode was re-shot, but I guess it’s still quite a significant milestone in RD’s history. I always wonder what became of that unresponsive audience, and whether any of them went on to become fans… Anyway, I have a sudden urge to watch The End: the Original Assembly and wallow in the heady, non-atmosphere of that strange and slightly awkward first recording night :) Creator Topic Viewing 1 replies (of 1 total) Author Replies September 28, 2017 at 10:22 am #222048 cwickhamParticipant It is remarkable that we ever got The Original Assembly at all, let alone pieced together from the rushes 20 years after it was recorded. How many other shows can you say that for? Even on the Simpsons Season 1 DVD, they only give you about five minutes of the rejected first version of “Some Enchanted Evening”.
