We all know about Remastered and the original plans to go further than Series III.

So what changes do you think they would have made to Series IV And V if they had gone ahead with the original plans to remaster them too?

Maybe we should go episode by episode, one a day. Who’s game?

Why not split the difference and go with M-Corp old Lister?

    QUARANTINE:

    – Opening landing sequence replaced by CGI remake.

    – Clever fix applied to all scenes featuring Lanstrom, after production team expressed embarrassment about crude glowing-eyes effect in original.

    – Kryten dialogue changed to “…and of course, the all-time number one: wanking!”, to keep joke structure consistent with Series VIII.

    – To enhance appeal to a new generation of viewers, Mr Flibble puppet replaced with cartoon redesign that performs Fortnite emotes whenever on-screen.

    – Episode now ends on the following freeze-frame:

Rimmer saying what “W.O.O.” stands for is cut out, to be more consistent with Last Human and “Officer BB”. They just act shocked as soon as they hear it.

    DEMONS & ANGELS:

To help lighten up the episode and clarify the plot, the strawberries at the start have been digitally enhanced with fun faces and personalities.

As Lister bites into them, they say things like “oi, put me down!” and “tee-hee, that tickles!”

    BACK TO REALITY:

    – Starbug chase sequence replaced with newly created extra-long CG version so that we actually get to see the despair squid. This includes Starbug manoeuvring around grasping tentacles, zig-zagging through the network of caverns they’re heading for in the original episode etc.

    – Recuperation Lounge scene vastly truncated to make room for the above.

    – Andy’s dialogue redubbed by a real Brummie.

Special effects for the Unspeakable One’s minions upgraded
to match Grant Naylor’s original creative vision, while also making
subtle allusion to the then-recent 1997 election

    DEMONS & ANGELS

    – Red Dwarf explosion sequence updated.

    – Additional dialogue added when Lister meets low-Rimmer to make it clear that Lister is perfectly fine with Rimmer dressing how he likes and is delighted that he is expressing his true self.

    – “Pot Noodle” sequence updated to instead refer to Rustlers cheeseburgers.

    – Low-Cat’s teeth digitally enlarged out of fear that they weren’t quite big enough the first time around.

    – References on “low” ship updated.

    Finally, the scene makes sense.

    BACK TO REALITY:

All the scenes in the ‘Back to Reality universe’ have a noisy filter applied to keep style consistent with the Smegazine’s Jake Bullet strip, and are split into 40-second segments made available to stream at monthly intervals.
