Therefore, I’d just like to draw your attention to a show about British Metal, presented by Justin Lee Collins on Radio 2 this saturday night at 10pm, entitled ‘British Steel: How British Heavy Metal Conquered The World’. More details here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00mzvbc Spread the word. Oh, I almost forgot to insert a generic derogatory comment about Justin Lee Collins! *generic derogatory comment about Justin Lee Collins* September 23, 2009 at 9:19 pm #103603 Tarka DalParticipant Hold on there’s not suddenly a backlash in favour of Justin Lee Collins is there? September 23, 2009 at 9:49 pm #103604 Ian SymesKeymaster I should hope not: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8269600.stm September 23, 2009 at 10:27 pm #103605 CarlitoParticipant He SHOULD quit. September 23, 2009 at 10:40 pm #103606 ori-STUDFARMParticipant Who? Brucie or Justin? September 24, 2009 at 12:47 am #103607 CarlitoParticipant I was talking about Bruce, but now you come to mention it… nah, Collins seems an amiable chap, I just don’t find him funny. A lot of people seem to love him, though, so each to their own. Same goes for Bruce, on that token. TV legend, but he’s still doing the same old tired schtick. How long until somebody at the Beeb realises that “Strictly Come Dancing” makes very little grammatical sense? What was wrong with, simply, “Come Dancing”? September 24, 2009 at 6:37 am #103608 Pete Part ThreeParticipant Isn’t the name an amalgamation of “Come Dancing” and “Strictly Ballroom”? Don’t watch it myself (prefer X Factor!) but on the rare times I’ve seen it, Bruce seems bewildered, grumpy and out of his depth. September 24, 2009 at 6:37 am #103609 Tarka DalParticipant Presumably it’s a reference to Strictly Ballroom? September 24, 2009 at 1:10 pm #103613 siParticipant Apparently Bruce won’t wear an earpiece, leaving the floor manager to count him in, and Tess to listen to Production, telling them when they need to wind things up whey’re over-running etc. I think that’s just selfish on Brucie’s part, but he won’t change because ‘that’s the way he’s always done it’. September 24, 2009 at 3:50 pm #103624 Danny StephensonKeymaster How long until somebody at the Beeb realises that ?Strictly Come Dancing? makes very little grammatical sense? The G&T team went on an excursion to BBC TV Centre to watch the pilot of “You Have Been Watching” being filmed. David Mitchell was a guest and pretty much had a 20 minute rant on this exact subject. It was amazing. September 24, 2009 at 4:05 pm #103627 The PerformingMonkeyParticipant David Mitchell – surely grown in a lab?? All the Footlights set are. I have it on good authority. September 24, 2009 at 4:12 pm #103626 ori-STUDFARMParticipant Anyone else baffled by Justin’s comments that Wogan should replace Brucie? Thats like deciding that Graham Norton is too camp for his chat show and giving it to Alan Davies!…or should that be Alan Davis…the buck toothed one anyway! Thats like deciding that Graham Norton is too camp for his chat show and giving it to Alan Davies! I’m just baffled JLC, and his popularity, in general really. Well Wogan did host ‘Come Dancing’ for five years so it’s not that much of a leap. September 24, 2009 at 7:24 pm #103637 ori-STUDFARMParticipant >I think you mean Alan Carr? fuck! I really must learn to google first! September 24, 2009 at 10:47 pm #103648 ChrisMParticipant >I?m just baffled JLC, and his popularity, in general really. I’m not. He seems a likeable enough bloke. And he’s not afraid to make a fool of himself for a laugh. (The fooling bit might be the part some dislike maybe?) I disagree with his comment concerning Brucie though. If Bruce still wants to do it, more power to him.
