I recorded Monday night’s viewing on the DVD Hard Drive, rather than directly on to a disc, and spent the occasional minute or ten editing it all down to one ‘movie’ sized version. So, I cut out all the ads, obviously, then the final scene from part one (which is extended at the beginning of part two), then – even though it fucks up the music – cut the last shot of part two, and stuck part three on the end. There I was, expecting a seventy-odd minute running time, but it only came to 68mins. Looking forward to a Director’s Cut on the DVD. Interesting, too, that the pause in the middle of part two now comes around half an hour into the edited version, which would suggest to me that this was how part one of a two parter would end. Also, that fade to black didn’t help – just felt out of place. Could also have tidied up the gag a bit. “I hate three parters, I mean what if I’m out? And what about advert breaks? They always happen at the most inconvenient..” *BUMPER, STING, ADVERTS*. Sorted.
