This is the best news I could have received today. I am absolutely crazy for Red Dwarf, hopefully both Rob Grant and Ed Naylor will write the new series as I feel that since Grant walked away, the show suffered. Still, any Red Dwarf is better than no Red Dwarf.

I find it difficult to be too hard on Marjii since most of the feedback on this false confirmation has been negative (I’m talking to you Digital Spy you massive pricks!) it’s nice to see someone getting excited… that said the RD geek in me just can’t let the major mistake slide! Ed Naylor… really?!

Google alerts has just sent me a link to some fan designed alternative covers for your Red Dwarf collection.

Apart from the elongated pencil design of Red Dwarf on the spines, I kinda like these.

Hmmm. Firstly, the existing ones are great, some of the best multi-series DVD covers ever, so I’m not sure why you’d want to replace them with a plain and boring design that’s exactly the same for each one and which anyone could knock up in paint in five minutes. Secondly, as you say, Remastered ship, BLEGH. And thirdly… “season”?

I mean, it’s clearly aimed at people with pirate copies, but even they could do better.

Anyway, sounds like he’s staking his future on making millions off his tell-all, ‘cos I’d be willing to bet that this “I’m not bitter, I just Google-stalk my online detractors so I can yell at them over their phone” does very little to inspire confidence in any future employers of his.

This recent article prompted me to search for an image of the Ace Rimmer Worlds Tour T-shirt (which a friend of mine had and I always wished I did too!), and for some reason this picture from Something Awful’s Ctrl-Alt-Delete mocking thread came up in the search results.

I don’t know why but one of the other search results was this terrifying thing. Believe me, you don’t want to click on that link. Really. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
