I would be happy if it was just Starbug though or even just Blue Midget. February 8, 2009 at 1:30 pm #90816 Mr FlibbleParticipant Sorry. Has the entire world missed what is said on Bodysnatcher about the pencil Red Dwarf being the shape it was originally meant to be? February 8, 2009 at 1:32 pm #90817 JamesTCParticipant Wasn’t that in ‘Back in the Red’? February 8, 2009 at 1:42 pm #90821 Mr FlibbleParticipant Possibly both. You get my point though. February 8, 2009 at 4:51 pm #90838 pfmParticipant Some kind of compromise between the pencil ship and the old ship would be good. Though I would take the pencil model, as seen in the brilliant unused model shot, over anything. Though I doubt we’ll ever see it again. I wonder if it’s in Doug’s garage or something… If Holly’s not in this (unconfirmed, though Norman’s out, obviously) then there’s a good chance Red Dwarf won’t be appearing at all. February 8, 2009 at 4:55 pm #90840 JamesTCParticipant Holly might get corrupted by a weird space virus. February 8, 2009 at 9:51 pm #90856 JoParticipant …ALIENS! February 8, 2009 at 9:57 pm #90857 Squeaky GibsonParticipant may they uploaded a new version of Windows and it corrupted his program. February 8, 2009 at 10:16 pm #90859 genericnerdyusernameParticipant They probably installed Vista and can’t get Holly to work. February 8, 2009 at 10:19 pm #90860 NitroChrisUKParticipant plus last time we saw red dwarf it had 2 hollies the egg head one aswell.. perhaps the they will say that holly quit due to being a miserable sod and let the ship run on auto February 9, 2009 at 2:09 am #90872 ChrisMParticipant >perhaps the they will say that holly quit due to being a miserable sod and let the ship run on auto Heh. Holly is the auto. Mind you starbug seemed to have two autos. Holly “Well, we say auto, but it’s bugsy ‘ere oo ‘as to do it…”* And erm. bug’s auto auto…. February 9, 2009 at 3:19 am #90873 Ben PaddonParticipant I hope you’re intentionally misquoting there, Chris. That way we can make fun of you. February 9, 2009 at 4:10 am #90876 ChrisMParticipant Yeah. That’s it. (Or poor memory cos I couldn’t be bothered replaying the scene to quote it exactly word for word. For auto read autopilot. For we=I) I’m sure you get the gist anyway… February 9, 2009 at 8:13 am #90880 Ian SymesKeymaster I want to hear Hattie Hayridge singing You Give A Little Love. February 9, 2009 at 3:05 pm #90909 ChrisMParticipant Ok, for the pedantic Percies (Paddons?*) of the thread: “Auto-pilot engaged. Well, I say ‘aut-pilot’, it’s not really ‘auto-pilot’ is it? It’s muggins’ ‘ere who has to do it.!” It might take me a while but I get there in the end. *Just kidding. February 9, 2009 at 3:09 pm #90910 Jonathan CappsKeymaster > *Just kidding. You shouldn’t do this. Call everyone cunts, you’ll feel better for it. February 9, 2009 at 3:13 pm #90911 ChrisMParticipant >You shouldn?t do this. Call everyone cunts, you?ll feel better for it. Heh. For a little while. Then I’d feel guilty. February 9, 2009 at 3:56 pm #90915 pfmParticipant Guilt don’t exist round these parts. February 9, 2009 at 6:14 pm #90924 Mr FlibbleParticipant No-one likes guilt round here. We want no guilt, no blame, no disapproval, no shame, fault, slur or attack, no chiding, no criticism, no diatribe, no recrimination and no opposition and DEFINITELY no smegging reprimand! February 9, 2009 at 6:43 pm #90932 RidleyParticipant How about http://www.ganymede.tv/files/downloads/wallpapers/art/dwarf-dead-800.jpg ? February 9, 2009 at 6:50 pm #90933 DaveParticipant Will guilt be in Red Dwarf? February 9, 2009 at 7:07 pm #90934 JamesTCParticipant Not if Kryten’s chip is taken out again. February 10, 2009 at 11:27 am #90988 JoParticipant I’ve been pondering this and I think that Red Dwarf will feature in the episodes, but only right at the very end. I think that after having made it back ‘home’ to Earth (in whatever form it takes), at the end of the second episode they’ll return to their real home, Red Dwarf. I don’t think we’ll see them back on the ship, I think the closing shot will be Starbug flying towards it. This way they can explain away Holly not being involved, but if they do end up making a new series or something they can easily bring the character back without any explanation. I think that this would be a great end scene and it would be a tidy end to Red Dwarf as well as a good starting point for any new episodes. I could be and probably will be entirely wrong, but I like the idea of it :o) February 10, 2009 at 11:34 am #90989 JamesTCParticipant Well I hope you are right, it would be a wonderful end like in the book ‘Backwards’ were they realise Red Dwarf is their real home. February 10, 2009 at 11:36 am #90990 JoParticipant My thoughts exactly! They could probably use this to explain Kochanski’s absence too if Doug wants to keep the character. February 10, 2009 at 11:45 am #90991 JamesTCParticipant Well the main reason for Kochanski was for the Movie and I don’t think he has lost hope of that yet. February 10, 2009 at 11:53 am #90992 NitroChrisUKParticipant >at the end of the second episode they?ll return to their real home, Red Dwarf. I don?t think we?ll see them back on the ship. very good idea if it turned out like that i would be very pleased and as you said would easily explain the holly and even kochanski situations even though robert said on youtube that there is talk of more after i hope there not covering up that this is in fact the LAST episodes and there goin to wrap it all up,i sure ope not February 10, 2009 at 1:21 pm #90997 PhilParticipant kakchriskak, I picture you making the same face as your avatar as you type your posts. February 10, 2009 at 2:56 pm #91008 NitroChrisUKParticipant >kakchriskak, I picture you making the same face as your avatar as you type your posts you would be correct. February 10, 2009 at 4:06 pm #91016 ChrisMParticipant I actually wouldn’t mind a series set on Earth. (This depends a lot on how the specials play out, obviously.)Then again that would likely involve a serialized plot and whilst I usually like that, run-on episodes in Red Dwarf have a tendency to be weaker. (By run-on, I don’t mean the odd serial thread, like chasing Red Dwarf in series 6, more the multipart episodes like in series 8.) That being said there’s a first time for everything. It works elsewhere after all. Author Replies Viewing 31 replies - 1 through 31 (of 31 total) Scroll to top • Scroll to Recent Forum Posts You must be logged in to reply to this topic.
