On the subject of ‘these types’ of videos I must admit this one made me chortle.

Pretty much an accurate recreation of my Timewave viewing experience.

At least he gets 24 hours notice. That’s more than most of us get. Most of us get “Mind that arrow.” “What arrow?” “Splat.”

“But listen to some of the physicists involved – Heidegger, Chantelle, Price, Essex – some of the most brilliant minds of the 21st century.”

    Give and Take
    The Beginning
    Lemons
    Officer Rimmer
    Twentica
    Trojan
    Fathers and Suns
    Krysis
    Can of Worms
    Back to Earth
    Samsara
    Entangled
    Dear Dave

Slainmonkey – I think the love for Trojan comes down to it being the first ‘proper’ Red Dwarf after such a long absence. It’s definitely The Force Awakens syndrome. I remember just being so happy to see the series back to the ‘classic’ format/setting that I ranked it highly on first viewing. I admit it hasn’t held up, but strangely, just like The Force Awakens, I’m still very fond of the episode but acknowledge it is deeply flawed and can totally understand why some would dislike it.

That’s my theory anyway! Maybe if Dear Dave had been the X opener I’d have been just as forgiving. But it wasn’t. And as you can see above…I’m not!

Of course if I could bend time and put out a series X based on the best of the Dave era eps then it would look like:

    1. Trojan
    2. Give and Take (removing reference to Rimmers father)
    3. Twentica
    4. Officer Rimmer
    5. Lemons
    6. The Beginning

That’s a damn strong series in my humble non-valued likely wrong opinion.

Give and Take as the opener and Twentica as the finale are no-brainers for me. The rest can go anywhere although I’m probably more inclined to keep Samsara in the episode 2 slot to get it out of the way quicker.

They all go on holiday to Miami where Kryten gets mistaken for a mafia boss and gets chased around with a bag of money.
