If there’s demand, a G&T IRC channel would be rather popular and we can all wile away the wee hours discussing the moral and evangelical themes of Red Dwarf and other much loved sit-coms. Then awkwardly flirt with any birds that come online and openly discuss Darrell’s mental fragility.

I’ve often wondered why there isn’t one, to be honest.

Is IRC still a thing? Not being facetious, I just assumed it had died out. I last used it over a decade ago. There was very briefly a #ganymede channel for a while in 2003, but it was mostly just used for me and John to collaborate on articles.

I love the speed and clarity of Internet Relay Chat. I’ve never seen a web-based Java chat client that has come close. I’ll set one up and see how it goes. All admin rights will revert to G&T afterwards and you can promptly ban me.
