Having seen the generosity and genuine awesomeness that was Jonathan Capps offering a spare ticket last week – I thought I’d try my very very hardest to find some way of getting to Shepperton. I have been considering just turning up and waiting outside the studios (I am going to do this if no luck), as I’m such a massive fan and were SO completely devastated to have missed out on a ticket via LostInTV! In fact, I was on the reddwarf forums asking about tickets for months in advance of them being released – I was just unlucky! Anyway, enough chit chat – if anyone by any chance has a single spare ticket, please please do let me know. I live relatively closely (an hours drive) and would 100% buy all the beers all evening! I would forever be in your smegging debt! Merry christmas everyone! It jeopardises having an audience on future series (and on the next 4 episodes) if fans do this in enough number and cause a disturbance in Shepperton. It could also cause increased traffic in Shepperton and so disturb fans who managed to get tickets. Really it is in the best interests of the future of the show for you not to go down to the studio. I know this might sound harsh and I’m really sorry you didn’t manage to get tickets but I would hate it to be the fans that kill future series of Dwarf being done the way Doug wants them too. December 20, 2011 at 5:48 pm #113743 MichaeldraysonParticipant I completely understand, and I agree. I didn’t think it through – you’re totally right. I’ll take your advise and not do so, even if it means missing a recording :) December 20, 2011 at 5:50 pm #113744 JamesTCParticipant Thanks! True Dwarfer you are! :) December 20, 2011 at 5:57 pm #113745 MichaeldraysonParticipant Damn right! One way or another I’ll hopefully find some luck! There are another 5 records, right? :) Someone is surely likely to have a spare! December 20, 2011 at 5:59 pm #113746 JamesTCParticipant The Red Dwarf Facebook and Twitter page will be running competitions to win tickets so if you keep an eye on those you might be able to win yourself a pair. December 20, 2011 at 6:02 pm #113747 MichaeldraysonParticipant I will do just that, thanks! I didn’t even know about the Facebook fan page – totally on it! Thanks! December 20, 2011 at 8:46 pm #113754 JamesTCParticipant From Seb on the official forum – I’ve got to say, if anything’s going to jeopardise the chances of there being an audience for any possible future series, it would be Shepperton becoming besieged by people turning up in the hopes that they might get in. If anything, I’d suggest it might even jeopardise there being an audience on the later dates of THIS series, if Shepperton’s security are made to feel like the show is actively causing a problem! There is nowhere to wait around outside the gates – you certainly wouldn’t be allowed to do so by security, just as you wouldn’t be allowed to hang around any major movie studio in that way – so it’s not as if you can turn up to wait and see if all the ticket-holders turn up. I have a feeling Doug’s tweet was aimed at people who might have happened to be close by in the vicinity, as there were specific weather/travel problems that meant not everyone actually made it in time (he did say it was “Due to traffic problems” in his tweet – for all we know, it might have been the tickets that were held by people he himself knew/had invited). I don’t think it should be taken as an indication that this will be the case for any future dates, and I certainly don’t think it was intended to encourage ticketless people to journey to Shepperton (which is a small and out-of-the-way town). It’s not my place to tell you what to do with your Friday afternoons, but I can’t stress enough that I think coming anywhere near the studios without a ticket is a bad, and potentially very disruptive, idea. December 20, 2011 at 8:49 pm #113755 Seb PatrickKeymaster Well, that’s in no way a twatty comment designed to cause trouble, is it, Ridley? December 20, 2011 at 8:51 pm #113756 MichaeldraysonParticipant I will heed Seb / your advice and not go anywhere near. As shocked as I was to see that had happened last week, I wouldn’t want to cause any issues or jepodise any future Red Dwarf infront of a studio audience. I am happy for those that live very close and were able to go, but I think I’ll just hold off and hope to get lucky here :) Maybe the powers that be are reading this and feeling generous… ! December 20, 2011 at 10:43 pm #113758 JoParticipant I know of a few people who weren’t able to attend because of the snow last week. It’s just one of those things, I doubt that it’ll be a frequent occurrence. December 20, 2011 at 10:54 pm #113760 MichaeldraysonParticipant Wow, well of you or anyone here finds this unfortunate happen again, please do consider me :) December 21, 2011 at 7:43 am #113763 RidleyParticipant Well, that’s in no way a twatty comment designed to cause trouble, is it, Ridley? Well Mr. Naylor wrote i– Oh. I see. You mean me. More a suggestion to keep an eye on Twitter. Lives close and all that. December 21, 2011 at 10:14 am #113765 Seb PatrickKeymaster Fair point. Sorry for being a bit narky, I’ve just been a bit stressed trying to keep across all the people who think besieging Shepperton would be a good idea. You’re right that anyone who lives relatively close should probably keep an eye on Twitter, but I’d also like to reiterate that no-one should really travel there in the *hope* that it might come up again. That way lies possible disaster. December 21, 2011 at 11:38 am #113766 MichaeldraysonParticipant You are right and I don’t think anyone is suggesting camping outside the studios. I for one would very much love to, but any real fans will realise it’s not going to help any potential Season 11. Maybe I should look on eBay for tickets!! December 21, 2011 at 3:16 pm #113771 JoParticipant Anyone who sells audience tickets for a profit should be punched in the face. December 21, 2011 at 3:20 pm #113773 MichaeldraysonParticipant I agree. But a true fan’s gotta do what a true fan’s gotta do! It would totally be a last resort, but I _REALLY_ want to see an episode of Red Dwarf get filmed! December 22, 2011 at 10:43 am #113780 JamesParticipant Anyone who sells audience tickets for a profit should be punched in the face. Comment endorsed by TORDFC. December 22, 2011 at 4:54 pm #113781 MichaeldraysonParticipant So.. I’m guessing no one has a spare for tomorrow then lol… :0) December 22, 2011 at 8:58 pm #113782 Jonathan CappsKeymaster RIGHT. Turns out we’ve got a spare, so I’ll throw this open to the site in the interests of FAIRNESS. First post first served. December 22, 2011 at 9:01 pm #113783 CarlitoParticipant meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee December 22, 2011 at 9:06 pm #113784 CarlitoParticipant really?? December 22, 2011 at 9:07 pm #113785 Jonathan CappsKeymaster YHM. December 22, 2011 at 9:37 pm #113786 ClaireParticipant Good luck to whoever gets it. Hope you enjoy yourselves as much as I did. :) December 22, 2011 at 9:50 pm #113788 pendo86Participant Don’t suppose anyone else has a spare for me?? *puppy dog eyes* December 22, 2011 at 9:58 pm #113791 MichaeldraysonParticipant I cannot believe it. I created this thread and check it like every hour and yet I miss it again :( noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo December 22, 2011 at 10:01 pm #113792 MichaeldraysonParticipant If anyone has another spare, then please please consider me. I may not be able to reply within 5 minutes but i promise you won’t find a more devoted fan! December 22, 2011 at 10:12 pm #113793 MichaeldraysonParticipant I am litterally gutted right now! Still, I’m glad to see that spares are still coming along, I just hope I’m quicker next time. Jonathan, could i be rude and ask for next dibs? I will be available for all dates, I will keep myself available. There isn’t anything that would stop me from being there! (apart from the lack of a ticket of course!) December 22, 2011 at 10:25 pm #113790 MichaeldraysonParticipant Missed it – Damn! December 22, 2011 at 10:42 pm #113794 CarlitoParticipant Awesome, thanks Cappsy and G&T! December 22, 2011 at 10:45 pm #113795 MichaeldraysonParticipant Congrats Carlito – let us know how it goes tomorrow! December 22, 2011 at 11:02 pm #113796 siParticipant Michael – make sure you’re following Doug on Twitter tomorrow – he’s just Tweeted this: > @DougRDNaylor: If we have some no-shows tomorrow I’ll try and tweet to say first come first served. December 22, 2011 at 11:05 pm #113797 MichaeldraysonParticipant I’ve just seen that, thanks! Yeh I’ll DEFINATELY be following him tomorrow. I may go and stay at my sisters in East Sheen (25 mins from the Studios) just incase he tweets those magic words! Maybe i’ll even come and join you guys for a beer before the filming – whats the worst that can happen eh? I’ll grab a beer! December 22, 2011 at 11:19 pm #113798 JamesTCParticipant >Maybe i’ll even come and join you guys for a beer before the filming – whats the worst that can happen eh? I’ll grab a beer! That sounds like a good idea, hang back at the pub out the way of causing a disturbance but close enough to rush in and catch filming should Doug tweet the magic words. December 22, 2011 at 11:19 pm #113799 ClaireParticipant I hope you get one; you deserve it for sheer persistence. :) December 22, 2011 at 11:22 pm #113801 MichaeldraysonParticipant Haha thanks Claire! And Soundable, thats exactly what I’m thinking. I can take along my laptop / work phone, tether up and do some work there (or chat with you guys haha) while providing some money in the form of drinks to the owners of the pub! December 22, 2011 at 11:47 pm #113802 MichaeldraysonParticipant OMG!* * Check Doug’s Twitter feed – LEGEND. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! December 24, 2011 at 1:52 pm #113824 CarlitoParticipant Did you make it in Michael? December 24, 2011 at 1:52 pm #113825 JamesTCParticipant He did going by twitter. December 24, 2011 at 2:19 pm #113827 CarlitoParticipant Good stuff. December 24, 2011 at 5:34 pm #113831 MichaeldraysonParticipant I did thanks guys, although I missed the beginning a bit. Hoping I’ll still get the opportunity to go again, either via the waiting list or I may get lucky here. Would be cool to see the beginning- the introductions/atmosphere etc. One thing I will say is GN is such a nice guy- what a legend!! December 24, 2011 at 5:39 pm #113832 Jake BulletParticipant Michael – forgive me if I am mistaken, but were you the guy who turned up late, and said you actually went to the wrong studio or something? I know one guy turned up a few minutes after recording started and said he went to Pinewood or something. lol The introductions were pretty cool I think, though I will say no more about them here – I will adhere to Doug’s request (and G and T’s policy), about keeping the time old promise of “what goes on tour, stays on tour” ;-) December 24, 2011 at 5:44 pm #113833 MichaeldraysonParticipant Yep I was he. I didn’t go to the wrong place, I just didn’t get in until GN tweeted offering me some tickets! I had to use main enterance. So I missed an entertaining start by the sounds of t! Hopefully I’ll see it another night! December 24, 2011 at 6:06 pm #113834 Jake BulletParticipant I could be imagining it then, but didn’t someone go to the wrong studio? Just FYI, I was the guy sitting near the front row centre, close to where Ray was keeping us all entertained – I was the big fella with the white shirt who helped keep everyone entertained with a ‘beautiful’ choral rendition of “Silent Night” LOL December 25, 2011 at 1:37 pm #113854 ori-STUDFARMParticipant Didn’t Ray just ask if Michael had gone to the wrong place and then run with it a little? December 25, 2011 at 7:04 pm #113856 Jake BulletParticipant It could well have been that Ori :) December 26, 2011 at 10:37 am #113870 Plastic PercyParticipant >Hopefully I’ll see it another night! Forgive me, but seeing as Red Dwarf tickets are about as rare as Leprechaun gold right now, now that you’ve seen one recording you should not try for any more tickets and allow somebody who hasn’t seen a recording go instead? December 26, 2011 at 5:07 pm #113872 Jake BulletParticipant I agree Percy – I have seen one, i doubt I will see another any time soon – good luck with your search bud :-) December 27, 2011 at 9:54 pm #113882 JenniferParticipant Agreeing with the agreements. I’m trying to win a ticket and come from the US, so my chances are very slim, indeed, of actually getting to see a show. Can’t you give your poor, very long-distance Dwarfian cousins a chance?
