I just checked a random episode (Backwards) and “Stan” appears to have Red Dwarf Remastered from the 1990s rather than the original broadcast episodes.

What the freaking heck? Is BBC Worldwide not syndicating the original Seasons 1 to 3 any more or did someone send “Stan” the wrong files?

I complained to them about this, but didn’t hear anything back. I left my cell, my pager and my home phone at the bottom. I sent two letters back in Autumn, they must not have got them, there probably was a problem at the post office or something.

I thought Stan was a silly name for a streaming service, but then I remembered we have a channel called Dave

Very weird that different streaming services would receive different files, though. How does that happen?

I nominate Ian’s post for Hall Of Fame status.

Just to update this: I’ve been watching through on Stan and it appears that literally only Backwards is the remastered version, very similar to how UKTV showed just Marooned remastered. Very strange.

Whatever happened at “Stan”, I appreciate that it did just for Ian’s comment. Bravo!

I don’t remember this, so I made myself chuckle too.

I feared that “Stan” might have had Polymorph Remastered.

For some reason the remastered version dumped the gag with them all walking along and we see two Listers. The replacement footage shows the ball bouncing down the hallway and words come up explaining that the second Polymorph being less intelligent hid in Lister’s clean underwear drawer… where it died of old age waiting to attack. A cute gag, but just not as good as the original ending.
