August 8, 2016 at 3:57 pm #214463 siParticipant Woah woah, rewind a bit. Blu-rays, 2017? Have I missed something? August 8, 2016 at 4:02 pm #214464 siParticipant Wouldn’t have thought BR releases very likely. Probably Amazon pulling your leg again. August 8, 2016 at 4:23 pm #214465 (deleted)Participant Improbable but true, Doug Naylor confirmed it. Upscales aimed at the Japanese market. Given that Japan are an NTSC region this will be the first time full 576-height masters will have been used, and presumably also the first time the Japanese redubs based on the Remastered music-and-effects iso tracks will have been synched to the original TX pictures? Nothing in it for the UK though, and as has been pointed out they’ll probably be slowed down for 60i. Bet it’s Christmas Day for Japanese fans though. I was considering bumping the old thread with a “these can’t surely be coming out in one week and we have no information”. I don’t imagine they are being delayed a year. I wonder if they’ll come out whilst the new series is airing. Get some cross promotion going. They advertised the DVDs during Series X IIRC (it may have been BTE). I seem to remember the advert only had clips from Series VI for some reason. August 8, 2016 at 5:55 pm #214471 JamesTCParticipant Hmm, Zavvi have the 14 August 2017 release date too now. August 8, 2016 at 6:40 pm #214472 siParticipant Improbable but true, Doug Naylor confirmed it. Upscales aimed at the Japanese market. Oh yes, I remember now. As you were.
