Over the winter of 2015/16 when we made series 11 and 12, some common sense momentum seemed to be building, but, since then, the project seems to have juddered to a halt. In the desert of silence I do encounter the occasional droplet of positivity but that’s it. If the droplet ever becomes a trickle, I shall of course leap to the keyboard and let you know. The Brittas position is not dissimilar. Since the promising newspaper articles of a couple of years ago and the enthusiasm of the Reunion last year, it all seems to have gone all quiet on the Whitbury front. All I can do is continue to express my desire to recreate the chainsaw voiced ogre and that is something I shall certainly keep doing.” Thanks to Chris Barrie Fans for making this known on Twitter. A nitpick perhaps but there is a difference. I also bristle a bit at the suggestion that “GMOs are absolutely vital to solving world hunger” when by FAR the greatest issue when it comes to feeding the world is the MASSIVE amount of food that gets wasted rather than any issues in terms of production or supply. Increasing yields does not do anyone any good if it that food just then rots in a landfill rather than reaching the people that would need it the most. There is a fundamental need to restructure how our food is handled and distributed, no matter if that food is grown with GMO or Organic crops. Adding the trap of corporations claiming intellectual property rights and disrupting local supply chains with patents could very well make this problem even worse, which while not being an essential part of growing GMO crops, has far too often proven to be the reality for a lot of producers. I agree with the thrust of your argument otherwise, but those two claims did stand out to me. Speaking as a food producer by the way. The official site is broken and abandoned, the official twitter barely tweets or responds, no sign of a Dimension Jump anywhere, so yeah, sometimes material is thin on the ground and everything gets meta, but unbelievably often G&T dig up something worthwhile to talk about as seen in the many other threads and articles. Personally, if there’s a thread that I don’t particularly like but other people are enjoying, I opt to just not read it. Unless it’s the Idea for an Episode thread, in that case I make vague threats to delete it all every now and then. Things will move on, there’ll be new in-jokes coming along to replace the current ones, and maybe the next lot will be more to your taste. In the meantime, please don’t construct straw men to insult an entire community, as it doesn’t reflect well on you.
