I know there were some really awful jokes but from the middle of it to the end of series six the character development was wonderful. Yeah, the character development in the first few series was utter shit. August 18, 2009 at 8:32 pm #102477 Pete Part ThreeParticipant “Where do you get your ideas?” and not a hint of irony. August 18, 2009 at 9:59 pm #102482 Danny StephensonKeymaster The Big Issue: it’s a bit like Bunty, but written by tramps. August 19, 2009 at 9:02 am #102492 siParticipant Thank you, Danny love. August 19, 2009 at 11:53 pm #102511 genericnerdyusernameParticipant I bought this. I thought she looked hot. Then I read the interview and became disgusted. Disgusting beauty. August 20, 2009 at 4:43 pm #102519 SeeYouAtThePartyRichterParticipant Who is Danielle Ward? August 20, 2009 at 10:30 pm #102528 JoParticipant Exactly! August 21, 2009 at 6:20 am #102539 redhead85Participant Accrington Stanley! August 21, 2009 at 10:14 am #102544 siParticipant “Nah, gerroff!!” August 21, 2009 at 6:30 pm #102552 Danny StephensonKeymaster “gimme some!”. On a related note, i’m currently working in Accrington for a while. August 22, 2009 at 11:03 am #102573 John HoareParticipant Whilst “searching” for pictures of Danielle Ward, I CAME ACROSS this: http://www.drivingschoolsloughborough.com/image_library/library/10806/orig_Danielle_Ward_16209.jpg Not her – but look at the top right. I wouldn’t want to be driving around Loughborough if he’s teaching people how to drive… August 22, 2009 at 11:08 am #102574 SeeYouAtThePartyRichterParticipant Is that what you have to do when you fail, but need to drop-off the money for the forged certificate? August 22, 2009 at 3:09 pm #102579 siParticipant >I wouldn?t want to be driving around Loughborough if he?s teaching people how to drive? “Work hard, Drive hard…” August 25, 2009 at 9:19 am #102652 J_SpacedParticipant I am in the category of Big Issue buyer that buys it out of guilt, never reads it, then lines the rabbit’s cage with it. Hence these sort of pointless interviews are absolutely perfect for my particular wedge of the Big Issue market. September 18, 2009 at 1:18 pm #103322 siParticipant My copy of the new SFX has popped through my letterbox this morning. In the ‘My Sci-Fi’ column is Reggie Yates – who owns “every Red Dwarf episode ever.” September 18, 2009 at 4:31 pm #103326 hummingbirdParticipant Erm … like most people who post on this site, you mean? September 18, 2009 at 6:26 pm #103331 Danny StephensonKeymaster Reggie Yates – who owns ?every Red Dwarf episode ever.? Wow, he must be a true fan. What an achievement. I want to be him so badly it hurts. Unless the lad is like 6 or something. In which case… “aw bless.” September 18, 2009 at 6:29 pm #103332 The PerformingMonkeyParticipant I bet he doesn’t have BtE on Blu-ray. September 20, 2009 at 2:53 am #103417 CarlitoParticipant He should change his name to Reg Warf. September 21, 2009 at 2:12 pm #103469 siParticipant Maybe he owns the rights to every Red Dwarf episode ever. Imagine that. Buying the rights to the show that you adore. September 21, 2009 at 5:50 pm #103482 Tarka DalParticipant If you’re thinking of relaunching Hyperdrive forget it right now. I know where you live. Remember? September 22, 2009 at 12:44 pm #103516 siParticipant How about Hyperdwarf? September 22, 2009 at 3:41 pm #103522 JoParticipant How about… No? September 22, 2009 at 5:51 pm #103526 Tarka DalParticipant > How about Hyperdwarf? Worryingly this made me think of one of my ex girlfriends. (Ian, not that one). September 22, 2009 at 6:47 pm #103538 hummingbirdParticipant Ian was one of your ex-girlfriends? That’s disturbing on several levels. September 22, 2009 at 8:47 pm #103551 Tarka DalParticipant He was young. I needed the money. September 22, 2009 at 10:31 pm #103559 CarlitoParticipant November 11, 2009 at 9:46 am #105926 Seb PatrickKeymaster Decided to try out some new podcasts, and so this morning was listening to the Dave Gorman one from Absolute Radio (and wow, Adam & Joe make a show where you sit around chatting nonsense and taking listener comments seem so easy that you forget how difficult it is for other people to make it funny), and the aforementioned disgusting geeky Dwarf fan Danielle Ward is one of his co-hosts. In the podcast-only segment at the beginning, they talk about a guard on a train who once ran an impromptu quiz over the tannoy. Ward said that she’d be rubbish at doing that, her only specialist subject is Red Dwarf and so all the questions would have to be about that. Dave: “Well, if you wanted to bring men rushing to the buffet car, that’d probably be a good subject. I can’t imagine too many women would get answers right on a Red Dwarf quiz.” Yes Dave. No women at all are Red Dwarf fans. I mean, if you were to take a sample of all the women IN THE SAME ROOM AS YOU AT THE TIME YOU SAID THAT, you’d only find that 100% of them were fans of the show… Later in the show Danielle admitted to being terrified by Ghostwatch. And according to Wikipedia she plays the bass guitar. I think I love her. November 11, 2009 at 10:02 am #105927 Ian SymesKeymaster I know the other fella on that podcast. I gave him his big break, playing accordion on a rubbish student TV show. November 11, 2009 at 10:12 am #105928 Seb PatrickKeymaster Actually, I’m being unfair, it’s not a dreadful show (despite Gorman’s Dwarf-fan-bashing). It’s just that any podcast without Boggins in it barely seems worth listening to… November 11, 2009 at 10:35 am #105929 Jonathan CappsKeymaster Unless it has a long discussion about ‘Cumkins’. November 11, 2009 at 10:47 am #105930 Seb PatrickKeymaster This is true. (listened to my first AIOTM this morning as well, as it happens. Anyone up for going to one of those at some point? I’m amused that it’s basically TWTTIN with different subject matter.) November 11, 2009 at 10:53 am #105931 Jonathan CappsKeymaster Well, ‘amused’ is one word, but I was pretty annoyed when Christian Riley turned up, because he’s shit. That said I’ve grown to love Dan Tetsell and I think he’s a genuinely excellent comedy partner for Richard. I’d like to go along, but it would mean a late school night. How about we aim for the final recording, as Herring productions almost always have spectacular final shows. I gave him his big break, playing accordion on a rubbish student TV show Monkey Tennis? November 19, 2009 at 2:05 pm #106254 Seb PatrickKeymaster Dave this week: “On last week’s show I suggested maybe having a section of correspondence for people who’ve only listened to the podcast and didn’t catch the live show, and then putting it in this podcast-only section”. Retro Text The Nation, then. November 19, 2009 at 2:08 pm #106256 Jonathan CappsKeymaster > Dave this week: ?On last week?s show I suggested maybe having a section of correspondence for people who?ve only listened to the podcast and didn?t catch the live show, and then putting it in this podcast-only section?. > Retro Text The Nation, then. That’s a shit jingle, it doesn’t even rhyme. November 19, 2009 at 2:24 pm #106258 JamesTCParticipant They don’t even use the word “trash”, hell not even “bin”. Boggins is not amused.
