November 9, 2009 at 11:47 pm #105893 littlesmeggerParticipant Mini teaser trailer just came on after Tennant’s stint on The Graham Norton Show. On which he kinda let slip that Doctor’s 10 and 11 meet… so I’m presuming Rose’s half-Doctor turns up and hangs around during the regneration. November 10, 2009 at 2:08 am #105896 Ben PaddonParticipant > so I?m presuming Rose?s half-Doctor turns up and hangs around during the regneration. You presume incorrectly. November 10, 2009 at 6:24 am #105898 MuzzyParticipant > On which he kinda let slip that Doctor?s 10 and 11 meet He didn’t really do that at all. At the most he implied they’d been on set together but before he could really clarify Norton jumped in and started putting words in his mouth. I believe Tennant’s reply was then “it’s not that straight-forward.” November 12, 2009 at 2:24 am #105966 JonsmadParticipant They could meet in a dream, given the hints about the unreality of some of it. November 12, 2009 at 2:27 am #105968 Ben PaddonParticipant > They could meet in a dream, given the hints about the unreality of some of it. There is precedent for this – the Watcher, who was “the Doctor all along!”. Except he wasn’t. Or was he? Or WAS he? OR WAS HE? November 13, 2009 at 7:54 pm #106048 steven87gillParticipant But aren’t they playing the same character? Okay different personality but the same consciousness. November 13, 2009 at 9:03 pm #106055 Ben PaddonParticipant What’s that got to do with anything? November 13, 2009 at 9:52 pm #106059 steven87gillParticipant Well, everything really, since Matt Smith is playing the same character as DT, and he’d basically be meeting himself, i understand it could be explained through time travel and/or a dream sequence but it would feel a bit odd. November 13, 2009 at 9:55 pm #106060 JamesTCParticipant >he?d basically be meeting himself Off the top of my head – The 3 Doctors The 5 Doctors The 2 Doctors The 8 Doctors Time Crash Zagreus The Sirens of Time Dimensions in Time November 13, 2009 at 10:19 pm #106061 steven87gillParticipant Yes, i know they’ve done it before but i think they’ll want to keep it unique this time and maybe do it through some sort of dream sequence, or my personal favourite, DT looking in the mirror and seeing a quick glimpse of MS. November 13, 2009 at 10:22 pm #106062 JamesTCParticipant >DT looking in the mirror and seeing a quick glimpse of MS. ‘The Power of the Daleks’ I believe. November 13, 2009 at 10:24 pm #106063 steven87gillParticipant Okay, now you’re just being a smart arse :):):) November 13, 2009 at 10:26 pm #106064 JamesTCParticipant ‘Bad Wolf’ I believe. Oh wait that is gun arse. November 13, 2009 at 10:27 pm #106065 steven87gillParticipant stop it! :) :) :) November 13, 2009 at 10:56 pm #106067 AndrewParticipant Oh now that’s definitely Daleks in Manhattan. November 13, 2009 at 11:13 pm #106069 Ben PaddonParticipant Really? I thought it was Rose. November 15, 2009 at 10:17 pm #106145 JonsmadParticipant I really enjoyed tonights Episode. They are milking the death of the 10th dr a bit, but over all I enjoyed this a lot, when I’d switched off mentally a bit watching some parts of the Next Dr and the Planet of the Dead. It certainly ramped up at the end I enjoyed the darker side of how it was going for the Dr, and thought the monsters were a good twist of the norm and felt like a good up date of early who black and white ideas in terms of how to do a human becomes monster. November 15, 2009 at 10:25 pm #106148 JamesTCParticipant Atleast they didn’t have to give a random character precognition to tell the Doctor he would die. November 15, 2009 at 11:09 pm #106149 steven87gillParticipant After watching confidential i find it a bit silly that RTD seems to think you can only take the doctor down this different darker path at the end of his time, why? What’s wrong with taking the doctor down this sort of darker storyline direction more often? Has he not seen 24? Jack bower shooting old lady’s in the leg? Erm, maybe that’s an extreme example but you see the point Just because he regenerates into matt smith doesn’t mean the reset button needs to be pushed and he’s back to good ol’ jovial doctor who follows the ‘rules of time’ (he owns a time machine, that’s sort of breaking the rules already) and everythings okay at the end. That’s silly, it would feel like a backward step after this. November 15, 2009 at 11:15 pm #106151 JamesTCParticipant The confidential opening titles have the new TARDIS in. November 16, 2009 at 2:21 am #106152 SomebodyParticipant And the dot in “DOCTOR ? WHO | CONFIDENTIAL” is back to being a little Tardis for the first time since DWC S1. November 16, 2009 at 4:02 pm #106159 Tarka DalParticipant > After watching confidential i find it a bit silly that RTD seems to think you can only take the doctor down this different darker path at the end of his time, why? Erm, maybe that?s an extreme example but you see the point Just because he regenerates into matt smith doesn?t mean the reset button needs to be pushed and he?s back to good ol? jovial doctor who follows the ?rules of time? Who isn’t like 24. It’s an established show that always needs to come back to a core set of rules. Yes over time those rules will change as the show needs to evolve to reflect it’s audience. Each Doctor is different anyway, so I can’t imagine Moffat intends to simply re-run over RTD stuff. November 16, 2009 at 7:50 pm #106168 The PerformingMonkeyParticipant > The confidential opening titles have the new TARDIS in. I think it’s just the old Tardis with the St John’s sticker on there. I don’t think it has the white windows. Aaaaagh!!! The Biggest Reset Button Of All Time, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, BBC1. November 16, 2009 at 8:31 pm #106174 steven87gillParticipant I know it seems silly, but i wouldn’t put some sort of time-reset button off the cards for TEOT This is RTD after all, not a critisism, just a theory. Karl ”Well it kind of does doesn?t it? Who isn?t like 24. It?s an established show that always needs to come back to a core set of rules. I agree, i like to think the Doctor’s various experiences inform his mental state after each regeneration, i’d like to see a little bit of that darker nature/arrogance in Matt Smith. I think he could play that well. November 16, 2009 at 10:56 pm #106178 Julian HazeldineParticipant Now in NTS-O-Vision: http://www.noisetosignal.org/2009/11/doctor-who-the-waters-of-mars November 16, 2009 at 11:46 pm #106180 JonsmadParticipant There cant be a complete re-set in The End of Time. Matt Smith is filming with River Song in an episode, so there has to be at least some continuity into the Moffat era based around that. November 17, 2009 at 12:12 am #106181 JamesTCParticipant That guy out of that Red Dwarf episode will be in ‘The End of Time’ if people have identified the voice acting on the trailer at the end of WOM correctly. Obviously the guy I am talking about is Brian Cox of ‘Stoke me a Clipper’ fame. November 19, 2009 at 1:50 pm #106252 Seb PatrickKeymaster “The End of Time, Part One”, then. November 19, 2009 at 1:52 pm #106253 Ben PaddonParticipant Didn’t see that coming. November 19, 2009 at 2:07 pm #106255 Jonathan CappsKeymaster Lovely. It’s much nicer having multi-part stories with the same name. Although I’ve listened to the brief sound clip on the site, and the music almost made me vomit. November 20, 2009 at 8:46 pm #106291 JamesTCParticipant http://blogtorwho.blogspot.com/2009/11/end-of-time-children-in-need-preview.html I like it, just a bit of fun before he starts to get all dark and shit. I laughed at the “try to make an Ood laugh” comment too. Oh and Gallifrey is returning I guess, or the Rani, I can’t be sure. November 20, 2009 at 8:52 pm #106292 Ben PaddonParticipant “He is returning and they are returning” – unless the Ood don’t know the word for “she”, which is daft, I doubt they’re referring specifically to the Rani. Nobody likes the Rani anyway. She’s shit. November 20, 2009 at 8:55 pm #106294 Ben PaddonParticipant Well there we are, then. November 20, 2009 at 8:56 pm #106293 JamesTCParticipant I don’t like the Rani, I was joking. I like Rani though. Oh and many people do seem obsessed with the Rani returning, did you know that she is returning and is being played by Gillian Anderson? True story.
