Heh. November 20, 2009 at 9:50 pm #106297 Pete Part ThreeParticipant The only thing more obsessive than people talking about the Rani returning, is SoundableObject talking about people talking about the Rani returning. Anyway, that wasn’t exactly Time Crash was it? Yes, I realise it was only two scenes from a proper episode, but I can’t say there were two particularly good scenes. November 20, 2009 at 9:59 pm #106300 JamesTCParticipant >The only thing more obsessive than people talking about the Rani returning, is SoundableObject talking about people talking about the Rani returning. I’m not obsessive, I just like that people actually think the character would return (including certain crap newspapers) so when something mysterious happens or a woman with red hair arrives it must be the Rani. >Anyway, that wasn?t exactly Time Crash was it? Yes, I realise it was only two scenes from a proper episode, but I can?t say there were two particularly good scenes. It wasn’t Time Crash but I dare say quite a few fans would’ve tuned in to see it and it would have gotten a bit of money for CiN, not as much as Time Crash would have but some. I will say that the scene from ‘The Next Doctor’ were better but I thought these scenes worked well too, a nice teaser. November 20, 2009 at 10:01 pm #106301 ChrisMParticipant They probably opted for the ligher moments anyway, it being Children in Need. I’d imagine there’d be quite a bit of darkness in the episode overall, assuming this is the last one. (Or is the last one in the new year?) November 20, 2009 at 10:06 pm #106302 JamesTCParticipant The clip is from ‘The End of Time’ Part 1. November 22, 2009 at 3:48 am #106370 The PerformingMonkeyParticipant Not the pre-credits scene because that’s probably going to involve Wilf/Donna or perhaps the Master’s return. The Doctor’s a fucking nutcase now anyway. The line about Good Queen Bess losing her nickname is about as cheeky a line RTD has ever had the gall to throw in. Especially when this involves the Doctor himself doing the deed (or at least that’s what he implies). You can tell RTD is pleased with the Ood, probably his best original alien creation. It’s good that they’re playing an important part in the finale. Brian Cox as the lead Ood’s voice? You can’t argue with that. Where it’s all going is something we’ll have to wait for New Year’s Day for. The Christmas Day episode is IMO likely to be the better one because I’m guessing it won’t have the wanky cameos by Rose et al and the story involving nightmares has the potential to be quite powerful. The New Year’s Day one will no doubt be the huge RTD bombast fest with all the returnees and music threatening to drum you into oblivion. I hope we get the truth about the Time War and final redemption for the Doctor over his actions in it. That way a line can be drawn, a fresh start can be achieved for the 11th Doctor. Btw, who else reckons the only reason RTD included the Dalek scene in Waters of Mars was the Terry Nation estate deal the BBC have? It makes sense if the deal is the Daleks must be used at least once a year. Even if they crop up briefly in the finale that will be New Year’s Day, 2010, i.e. next year!! So he had to do the scene in WoM to satisfy the estate. November 22, 2009 at 11:55 am #106375 JamesTCParticipant >I?m guessing it won?t have the wanky cameos by Rose I’m not too sure but I heard that is earlier on in the story, besides he just says to her that she is going to have a wonderful year. November 22, 2009 at 12:16 pm #106377 Julian HazeldineParticipant According to ‘The Mag’ the CiN clip consistend of scenes 4 and 5, which are immeditaly post-credits. The three pre-credits scenes don’t feature the Doctor, and would have been too plot-heavy to make for an effective teaser. November 22, 2009 at 3:21 pm #106392 ChrisMParticipant >Btw, who else reckons the only reason RTD included the Dalek scene in Waters of Mars was the Terry Nation estate deal the BBC have? Possibly. I liked the scene though, and the continuity with past present day episodes, although I thought the whole Earth stealing thing a bit much. November 24, 2009 at 3:12 pm #106468 DaveParticipant Has anyone been watching Dreamland? November 24, 2009 at 4:36 pm #106475 AlexParticipant Has anyone been watching Dreamland? Yes. I was a little concerned about the animation to start with but I think overall it’s been pretty good so far, mainly due to a good story. A definite improvement on ‘The Infinite Quest’, which had the tendency to lurch from one thing to another too drastically where as this feels far more like a normal episode. I?ll be interested to see it in one go on Saturday. November 26, 2009 at 12:23 pm #106554 steven87gillParticipant Christ, i’ve seen enough photos of her to put two and two together and only yesterday did i realise that Karen Gillan is also in the kevin bishop show. I am a numptie. ###k me indeed. November 26, 2009 at 6:20 pm #106578 Pete Part ThreeParticipant Well, hopefully you didn’t know that because you’ve never seen The Kevin Bishop Show. You know, on account of it being fucking awful. It’s a half complete episode guide for series 5, anyway: http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l248/oldtype40/List.jpg It all seems well and good, but… Chris Chibnal? Really? After he completely fucked up Torchwood and wrote one of the worst episodes of Doctor Who ever? November 30, 2009 at 3:12 pm #106709 Jonathan CappsKeymaster > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROY0EBiz-Bw&feature=related I have absolutely no idea what point he’s trying to make. November 30, 2009 at 6:22 pm #106711 Ben PaddonParticipant > Chris Chibnal? Really? After he completely fucked up Torchwood and wrote one of the worst episodes of Doctor Who ever? Yes, but you forget that the Moff is script-editing. He’ll make it less shit. November 30, 2009 at 7:10 pm #106712 Jonathan CappsKeymaster > Yes, but you forget that the Moff is script-editing. He?ll make it less shit. That’s hardly the point… November 30, 2009 at 8:57 pm #106713 MuzzyParticipant The Cybermen for the finale? Urgh. November 30, 2009 at 10:24 pm #106715 Phil1034Participant > one of the worst episodes of Doctor Who ever? Really??! I’m always curious as to why people are so vociferous in their hatred of this episode. I can only ever muster indifference at best; not that meddiocrity should be acceptable of course. December 1, 2009 at 1:25 am #106720 SomebodyParticipant Isn’t it about time to lock this thread, with the pagirritation and all? December 2, 2009 at 11:46 am #106748 Seb PatrickKeymaster Yeah, I was thinking of that, but I think what I’m going to do is create a new thread specifically for End of Time discussion, and then if people have any Smith-related nuggets they can still go in here for now. Then after Christmas, we’ll have a brand new spoiler thread. God, this is hard work.
