As both shows are going out this Easter, which will get the much coveted cover? February 8, 2009 at 11:19 pm #90863 JoParticipant ^ this February 8, 2009 at 11:31 pm #90866 Danny StephensonKeymaster I always saw Radio Times as a BBC-centric magazine anyways. So even if Who wasn’t going on, I dont think they’ve make the cover… February 8, 2009 at 11:35 pm #90867 John HoareParticipant Yeah, no cover whatsoever. They’ll probably get a write-up inside, though. Probably not a big one, though. February 9, 2009 at 11:15 am #90887 siParticipant The fact that Doctor Who’s on over the same weekend (although Dwarf’ll be on on the 10th, and I can see Who being on the following day, hence the the following week’s issue), just the fact that it’s on Dave means it’s it’s chances of a cover are practically zero (though never say never, people). Incidentally, nobody is worried that Dwarf and Who will be on at the same time, are they? February 9, 2009 at 11:28 am #90888 Pete Part ThreeParticipant No, since Doctor Who is family viewing, while Red Dwarf is typically post watershed. February 9, 2009 at 12:50 pm #90892 JamesTCParticipant Plus Red Dwarf is miles better than Doctor Who and I count the classic series and BFA in that too. February 9, 2009 at 12:58 pm #90895 Jonathan CappsKeymaster > Plus Red Dwarf is miles better than Doctor Who and I count the classic series and BFA in that too. I’m sure the schedulers take this into consideration. February 9, 2009 at 1:07 pm #90897 JamesTCParticipant Oh I know, it is just if it came down to new Who or new Red Dwarf I know which I would choose, that is coming from a guy who spent stupid amounts of money on Who. February 9, 2009 at 1:48 pm #90899 Seb PatrickKeymaster >Incidentally, nobody is worried that Dwarf and Who will be on at the same time, are they? No, because it’s already known that Dwarf is on at 9pm on the 10th. Even if it’s also on on the 11th, it’ll probably be the same time slot. Who will be on between 6.00 and 7.30pm on either the Saturday or the Sunday. There’s no chance of it clashing with Dwarf. And even if they were looking at similar time slots, Dave aren’t stupid enough to schedule their first original sci-fi commission against the biggest sci-fi programme in the country. February 9, 2009 at 1:51 pm #90900 AndrewParticipant Should make for a great night of telly – Who, Confidential, then turn over for brand-new Dwarf. S’bloody marvelous! February 9, 2009 at 2:07 pm #90901 Jonathan CappsKeymaster > Should make for a great night of telly – Who, Confidential, then turn over for brand-new Dwarf. S?bloody marvelous! Quoted for WTF. I would have never, ever dreamed that the same Easter weekend would have this kind of schedule. February 9, 2009 at 4:17 pm #90916 siParticipant Some kind of wonderful. February 9, 2009 at 6:34 pm #90927 Almighty_crjParticipant Better odds than you’d think, actually. As Radio Times is printed by BBC magazines, a subsidiary of: (drumroll) BBC Worldwide! Who are, you know, paying for the Red Dwarf specials. Not impossible to be both though – they did the Doomsday/World Cup hybrid cover and they’ve also done multiple covers before now. February 9, 2009 at 6:39 pm #90929 ChrisMParticipant I have my doubts they’d do that, but it’s a decent idea. A British sci-fi specials cover. February 9, 2009 at 6:40 pm #90930 DaveParticipant There is bound to be something else on BBC1 after Planet Of The Dead which from the Radio Times perspective will warrant a cover or the sharing of a cover with Doctor Who.
