Such a massive shame that Rome didn’t get at least 4 seasons. It could have run and run, going through Caligula, Claudius, Nero and maybe even a later period in the Empire. Sadly it was too expensive to carry on with. The cast were so brilliant (it’s great that Polly Walker is now in the Galactica spinoff, Caprica) and the drama, though being totally overblown a lot of the time, hit all the right notes for me. James Purefoy as Marc Antony was pure genius. And then you had the core characters of Pullo and Vorenus, who’s stories you wanted to follow for a LOT longer time than we got. One of my favourite series’ ever.

I always found Comic Strip a bit hit and miss, but was fond enough of this ep to hold on to the old VHS recording.
Not laugh out loud funny, but it’s the characterisation I love …
