It seems that FluffyWok and I have a big decision on our hands. Which episode do we show to our daughter first…? November 5, 2011 at 2:14 pm #113239 Danny StephensonKeymaster Hmm, not enough for a tiny one to understand and be excited about, I don’t know. I’m assuming at that age she might not be all interested in plot and or character development. Show her Series VIII. That way she has all the other delights of Series I > VI to look forward to. Alright then, and Series VII.. November 5, 2011 at 3:21 pm #113240 siParticipant Ooh! Series VII! Blue! The Munchkin Song! Perfect for young ‘uns! Okay, we don’t actually get to see him, but kids have good imaginations! November 5, 2011 at 5:15 pm #113243 Pete Part ThreeParticipant Krytie TV. Ah, hang on. That might be a bit too infantile. Even if they get none of the scripted jokes, the meal scene is a right laugh. November 5, 2011 at 10:51 pm #113249 srmcd1Participant How about Camille? Teach your child the importance of lying and cheating and insulting people. Necessities, I tell you. November 6, 2011 at 1:13 am #113250 Bob LoblawParticipant I’m not sure it’s all that important which episode comes first, people tend to take to it or not. For example, my first episode was Pete, Part 2. My brother saw Red Dwarf was coming on TV and said to me: “Oh you should watch this show, it’s really funny. Let’s see…oh, it’s the one with the dinosaur, that’s the best one!’ (Makes me think of a line from Community: ‘Oh and for the record, there was an episode of Happy Days where a guy literally jumped over a shark, and it was THE BEST one.’) So in conclusion, Backwards. November 6, 2011 at 3:30 am #113251 pfmParticipant My little niece is nearly 2 and she STILL won’t sit in front of the TV for longer than 2 seconds! Not even when Mr Tumble’s on….*sigh* Though, who knows, I might give The End: The Original Assembly a spin and see what happens! :P I still think The End is the best first episode to show anyone if you actually want them to get into the show. If you just want some laughs then maybe Backwards, Marooned, Timeslides or Gunmen for general class! November 6, 2011 at 11:09 pm #113253 genericnerdyusernameParticipant First episode my parents showed me when I was a young’un was Polymorph. I loved it, but I loved films like Robocop and Alien before I lost my milk teeth. Apparently that’s not normal?
