Is it good? Should I get it? Craig was one of the presenters along with Micheal parkinson, sarah green and mike smith. It’s very good. Especially if you tuned in when it was on TV. Yes you should get hold of it. Then AFTER you’ve watched it. You should listen the the podcast some of G & T did. October 20, 2012 at 2:31 pm #202617 JonsmadParticipant You should watch it this Halloween. October 20, 2012 at 2:39 pm #202619 siParticipant I haven’t seen it since the original broadcast. I’d love to see it again. EDIT: Just bought it for £4.45 on Amazon. That’s my Halloween sorted. October 20, 2012 at 2:57 pm #202622 Ben KirkhamParticipant “EDIT: Just bought it for £4.45 on Amazon. That’s my Halloween sorted.” I just have too. Thanks :) October 20, 2012 at 3:54 pm #202626 MANI506Participant Rewatching Ghostwatch for Halloween is a great idea. Isn’t there supposed to be a documentary coming out as it’s the twentieth anniversary? October 20, 2012 at 4:08 pm #202628 p2p_productionsParticipant >Isn’t there supposed to be a documentary coming out as it’s the twentieth anniversary? Yeah, I heard something about that. October 20, 2012 at 4:37 pm #202629 Danny StephensonKeymaster That documentary needs to get released at some point, and I’m not saying that for any particular reason at all… October 20, 2012 at 4:50 pm #202631 p2p_productionsParticipant Yes. No particular reason, at all. October 20, 2012 at 9:53 pm #202644 CackThosePantsParticipant I remember it and bought the DVD back in 2003. It scared the shit out of me 20 years ago – couldn’t sleep for weeks after that. Then masturbation reared it’s ugly head which took my mind of it till this day. October 20, 2012 at 10:12 pm #202647 JoParticipant > Yeah, I heard something about that. You big tease! October 20, 2012 at 10:54 pm #202652 p2p_productionsParticipant >You big tease! :) October 20, 2012 at 11:44 pm #202660 Danny StephensonKeymaster Here’s a Sneak Preview of the documentary . <---- I've shrunk it down a bit though for legal reasons. October 20, 2012 at 11:56 pm #202661 JoParticipant >Isn’t there supposed to be a documentary coming out as it’s the twentieth anniversary? As P2P appears to have gone all shy, here’s a linkie that is relevant to this thread: http://www.ghostwatchbtc.com/ October 21, 2012 at 2:43 pm #202679 p2p_productionsParticipant >Here’s a Sneak Preview of the documentary . <—- I’ve shrunk it down a bit though for legal reasons. Spolier tags, please, Dan. Sheesh… October 21, 2012 at 2:45 pm #202680 p2p_productionsParticipant >Here’s a Sneak Preview of the documentary . As P2P appears to have gone all shy … IT’S CALLED DECORUM, ACTUALLY. But cheers for the linkie. :) October 21, 2012 at 5:15 pm #202683 ori-STUDFARMParticipant Incidently, the Red Dwarf Introcast are going to do a special episode for christmas in which they watch a non-Dwarf episode to see what the ‘new comers’ think about it. They are looking at shows from around the same era as the shows they are currently reviewing. The four they’ve opted for are- Ghostwatch (Craig Charles link) Bottom (Robert Llewellyn link) Britas empire (Chris Barrie link) Maid Marian & her Merry Men (DJJ link) These have been put up on their facebook page as a poll….Ghostwatch is currently third. October 21, 2012 at 5:37 pm #202684 p2p_productionsParticipant That’s actually quite a tough choice! Of course, I would strongly recommend GW, but it all depends on whether the focus is to compare Dwarf to other circa-90s *comedy* shows, first and foremost. I might be bias, but I really think GW really shows Craig’s agility as an actor. He made that role his own. …Can’t they just check out all four shows? And if not, why not?! :D October 21, 2012 at 6:03 pm #202685 CackThosePantsParticipant Damn Sarah Greene was fit. October 21, 2012 at 10:21 pm #202691 Pete Tranter’s SisterBlocked Is. October 22, 2012 at 12:30 am #202697 CackThosePantsParticipant Sadly she hasn’t spent 20 years in stasis. October 22, 2012 at 12:32 am #202698 CackThosePantsParticipant But yeh 20 years? 1992 was such a cool year. Series V, Sonic 2, Sega Megadrive for Christmas. Ah, those were the days. ;( October 22, 2012 at 3:15 pm #202726 pfmParticipant > Sonic 2, Sega Megadrive for Christmas. I’m gonna well up in a minute… October 22, 2012 at 3:49 pm #202728 AlexParticipant I’ve never actually picked up a DVD of this. Is it worth spending the extra few quid for the BFI edition? Is the commentary of any interest at all? October 22, 2012 at 8:58 pm #202752 p2p_productionsParticipant The writer/director/producer commentary on the BFI DVD is great. There’s also a mini doco and some downloadable PDFs (scripts, short story). It’s fairly difficult to track down an original these days – not quite up there with The Stone Tape or The War Game, in terms of rarity – but every once in a while, you can find a copy in the ‘upwards of £20’ bracket. Look at Craig! Dreads! Brilliant! October 24, 2012 at 4:33 pm #202830 Ian SymesKeymaster Haha, I didn’t notice those first time round! Behind the Curtains is going to be fucking brilliant, despite featuring vox pops from Cappsy, Tanya and Jo TORDFC. October 24, 2012 at 4:50 pm #202832 Jonathan CappsKeymaster At one point Donna, our tiny idiot of a cat, interrupted the interview by looking directly down the barrel of the camera. I hope she makes it into the Smeg Ups. October 24, 2012 at 7:29 pm #202835 ori-STUDFARMParticipant I actually introduced my eldest daughter to Ghostwatch a couple of weeks back as part of our “watch horror with Daddy” tuesday nights. She really enjoyed it. Although she couldn’t understand why people were actually scared by it. I had to explain again about people (myself included) being mistaken by thinking it was actually a real documentary. I had to explain who Sarah Green was, who ‘Parky’ was and everything. I think she got it in the end. Just played her the trailer for the making of….she’s looking forward to that now! October 24, 2012 at 11:01 pm #202837 JoParticipant Behind the Curtains is going to be fucking brilliant, despite featuring vox pops from Cappsy, Tanya and Jo TORDFC. Hey! :-( At one point Donna, our tiny idiot of a cat, interrupted the interview by looking directly down the barrel of the camera. I hope she makes it into the Smeg Ups. I forgot about that, tee hee! Yes, cat-based Smeg Ups please :-D October 25, 2012 at 12:19 am #202839 Danny StephensonKeymaster Behind the Curtains is going to be fucking brilliant, despite featuring vox pops from Cappsy, Tanya and Jo TORDFC. not to mention some animations made by some twat from Yorkshire… October 25, 2012 at 12:51 am #202840 Ben KirkhamParticipant “not to mention some animations made by some twat from Yorkshire…” J.B Priestley? ;) November 2, 2012 at 5:21 pm #203295 Ben KirkhamParticipant Holy shit! Well, I’ve never ever seen anything like that before! Fucking excellent, loved every minute. The last 20 minutes were bizarre and terrifying. I expect seeing this on original transmission would have been nerve-shredding. I was 7 at the time, but I vaguely remember people talking about it on the news. Michael Parkinson and especially Sarah Greene made the whole thing work for me. A brilliant bit of telly. This must have been what it felt like listening to Orson Welles’ ‘War of the Worlds.’ P2P and Danny, really looking forward to the documentary! November 2, 2012 at 5:47 pm #203296 post-edParticipant I remember watching it up until the tape recorder bit with Pipes the night it aired. Was quite spooked by it even by that point, mainly because of the curtains and aforementioned tape parts, so had to go to bed after that. 28 years old I was, ah! It was only about 9 years ago that I fully found out on the internet what that show was, and have watched GW over and over, trying to tell anyone who will listen to watch it/if they remember it, usually getting blank faces when I do. Then I get off the bus, ah! Really excited about Behind The Curtains, it’s a piece of television that deserves a lot more attention than it has been given. November 2, 2012 at 5:59 pm #203297 p2p_productionsParticipant >P2P and Danny, really looking forward to the documentary! >Really excited about Behind The Curtains, it’s a piece of television that deserves a lot more attention than it has been given. Yeah, I heard something about that. …Ah, only kidding. Cheers! Hope you dig it. :) November 2, 2012 at 6:48 pm #203299 Ben KirkhamParticipant Forgot to say how much it reminded me of ‘Sapphire & Steel,’ and I mean that as a huge compliment. November 2, 2012 at 10:58 pm #203305 pfmParticipant I imagine if they broadcast it again it would be ‘BBC TO SHOW SICK HALLOWEEN GHOST HOAX’ etc. Author Replies Viewing 37 replies - 1 through 37 (of 37 total) Scroll to top • Scroll to Recent Forum Posts You must be logged in to reply to this topic.
