How many versions of that song are there? EDIT: I realize now that it’s a spoken-word album of TongueTied asking ten of his best trademark rambling nonsense questions. Aye, does writing down the entire of the “What have the Romans ever done for us?” scene into a Religious Education exam under the question “Who are ‘CAFOD’, and what are their main contributions to developing third-world countries?”, count? I got a U. GO ME! July 2, 2008 at 1:17 am #81948 Jonathan CappsKeymaster I love you, Danny. July 2, 2008 at 7:06 am #81951 Ian SymesKeymaster I quoted vast swathes of Hitchhikers in my RE exam, and I got a B. July 2, 2008 at 8:04 am #81952 DaveParticipant Bibliography Colluphid, Oolon; Origins of the Universe, The Colluphid, Oolon; Some More of God’s Greatest Mistakes Colluphid, Oolon; Well That About Wraps It Up for God Colluphid, Oolon; Where God Went Wrong Colluphid, Oolon; Who Is This God Person Anyway? July 2, 2008 at 8:39 am #81953 Pete Part ThreeParticipant I did a GCSE English Lit essay comparing Last Human to Backwards and got a B. July 2, 2008 at 9:00 am #81955 AndrewParticipant My Media A-level included a Red Dwarf show analysis AND a Dwarf comic strip. Eng Lang A-level included a breakdown of the language use in Marooned. And degree included a research project into Red Dwarf fandom. I’m never going to be qualified for anything else. Bollocks. July 2, 2008 at 9:35 am #81957 Ian SymesKeymaster Oh, yes. My degree included an analysis of Back To Reality, a study of how Red Dwarf conforms to its various genres and an essay exploring social satire in Hitchhikers. I achieved my best ever mark with a presentation comparing An Unearthly Child to Rose. July 2, 2008 at 9:43 am #81958 TheLeenParticipant I wish I’d known Red Dwarf when I went to school! The best thing I ever got out of using Red Dwarf lines in real life was a snog. July 2, 2008 at 10:44 am #81960 Ian SymesKeymaster I have actually used the line “I hardly said anything other than geronimo” post-coitally. July 2, 2008 at 11:05 am #81961 PhilParticipant Yes, I remember it well. July 2, 2008 at 11:57 am #81963 John HoareParticipant I got a massive bar of free chocolate from lending my Maths teacher some Red Dwarf tapes, if that counts. But I never thanked him for it, because I thought he might have left it in there by mistake. Jesus. July 2, 2008 at 12:07 pm #81965 Ian SymesKeymaster What, did the videos come back with the chocolate bar inside? July 2, 2008 at 12:19 pm #81969 John HoareParticipant Yeah, he just handed me the bag back with the videos – and I found the chocolate inside later. It was a lovely gesture, and I still feel really guilty I never thanked him! God know why I thought he might have left it there by mistake… July 2, 2008 at 12:21 pm #81970 AndrewParticipant He hated you after that day. He cursed your name as he died in his own blood, depressed at the ingratitude of today’s youth. And it was all your fault. July 2, 2008 at 2:46 pm #81980 Danny StephensonKeymaster I think i’ve just heard t’other Danny do a voice for McDonalds Kung Fu Panda advert. ANyone else noticed? July 2, 2008 at 8:59 pm #81987 ChrisMParticipant I don’t think my school would have allowed essays (etc) on Red Dwarf. One guy in my English Lit A level wanted to write on Stephen King literature and he wasn’t allowed cos it wasn’t considered worthy.
