I mentioned it in passing on Twitter earlier this evening, but the new issue (issue 470) of Doctor Who Magazine has the first of a three part feature on Mike Tucker and The Model Unit, with interviews with the like of Mike,Alan ‘Rocky’ Marshall and Nick Kool et al.

“This epic three-part tale of Mike’s association with Doctor Who will […] study Mike and his colleagues’ work on various classic Doctor Who serials and what they did after the 1989 axing of Doctor Who.”

The feature includes a photo of the team in their Red Dwarf V FX Crew t-shirts, so it’s not unreasonable to assume Dwarf will get a mention or two over the next three months, and the feature will be worth a read even if RD doesn’t feature.
Thought it’d be of interest to most of us on here. ;)

Does it say anything about Doctor Who?

In passing. And it’s very good.

DWM website on this month’s instalment:

Model-maker extraordinaire MIKE TUCKER and members of the Model Unit talk exclusively to DWM about their work on Doctor Who, Red Dwarf and more.

I don’t know how much it says about my social life, but the new DWM is generally the highlight of my month these days.

Another excellent instalment from Jason Arnopp’s in today’s new DWM (Accompanied by pics of Starbug and Rimmer’s Self Loathing on page 55). One of the nicest features I’ve read in DWM, actually.

Part Three is excellent, too. A really cracking 3-part feature.

Also, I’ve just spotted on Twitter that The Model Unit now has a page on Facebook:
