OK but when I was making this meme, I uncovered the the ACTUAL Mandela Effect around this. “Berenstein” is stupid, obviously wrong and irrelevant, the real question was whether it was “Berenstain” or “Bearenstain.”

The whole “Berenstein” thing was always silly to me because I had parents who can actually read letters correctly. And apparently a decent number of the people whose parents misread the name every time believe that error is somehow less likely than them being teleported into an alternate dimension where these children’s authors’ last name was one letter off but everything else is the same. Fuck off with that noise.

Obviously I have perfect recall, so this could never afflict me personally.

But I have seen a lot of people referencing an event where UKTV sent a curry into space to promote Red Dwarf. Clearly that never happened in this universe, or there would be video proof of it on the internet.

The main one for me is the Out Of Time ending one, where I was sure that the original ending never had the laser blast from future-Starbug.

I think this was a pretty common one that (if I remember right) was created by it being missing from the unused alternative ending shown on the Smeg Ups tape, rather than the version first broadcast.
