An idle thought made me look up whether Virgil’s Aeneid is available in comic book form.

Virgil’s Aeneid is indeed available in comic book form:

But comics are for children and losers.

Except for the ones I read.

Its not too much of a shock, whenever I’m in a book shop I always end up stumbling over manga copies of Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet.

I always thought that the Aeneid is ideal for comic books, we had to translate a bit of it for Latin and it was all gay Greeks killing Italian tribesman. The Illiad is even more so, they had that godawful film that taught us all that the war was over in under a weekend and that Greek ladies don’t wear underwear. I think Virgil would have thought it was awesome.

I know the artist of some of those – Emma Vieceli. Can’t remember which ones specifically she’s done, although I think R&J might have been one.

To be fair, I only know her ‘cos she does comics (and then, through some other friends who also work in comics) rather than her being someone who was a friend who happens also to do comics.

However: you know me, and I’m talented, so there.

Ok apart from Seb and my wife: What have the Romans ever done for – I mean I don’t know any one who’s talented.

Yeah, me and my type first think later approach has once again done me no favours and made me look like an inconsiderate dick. You guys are all lovely (especially the ones I have met) and are supremely talented in your chosen areas of expertise.

I was being flippant, I wasn’t expecting the Spanish Inquisition =)

I am talented at putting autotune on my vocals and making it sound natural, unlike the stupid X Factor production team.

Gotta love Tanya. Courteous a host as I’ve ever had. Of course I didn’t see much of John, what with him being sick and all.

I haven’t met you, Ian. You could molest rabbits for all I know. If you like I could imagine what I think meeting you would be like, and then put my thoughts on the largely fictional event was like into words.
