Did anyone hear back from TORDFC re membership refunds? I didn’t receive a refund and no response to messages.

Just back from pandorica Dr who convention. Well run, nice people, great guests but…..

Damn you all previous tordfc team members and all organisers of previous DJ’s (I know many of you are on G&T) because nothing is going to compare to Dimension jump. You set a ridiculously high bar! Even more appreciative of those events now than when I attended.

Just saw the above announcement. Unexpected but appreciated. Will probably be putting the refund towards next years convention.

In my humble opinion any red dwarf convention is great thing. A bit disappointed that it is not being held in a hotel. For those who attended DJ, is it just me or was one of the best things about those conventions the fact that many attendees and guests all stayed at the hotel. I’ve met so many good people through DJ’s at Nottingham and Birmingham. Late nights at the bar and bleary eyed breakfasts each morning really added to the overall atmosphere. Anyone planning to stay at the crown plaza or is there a better option which will attract more attendees?

Damn you G&T and your lack of a ‘Like’ button!

Agree! So many times I’ve thought this.

Great to hear that a convention is happening next year. I was holding off booking a trip to the UK until a Dimension jump was announce but gave up a couple of months ago and booked a trip in November (anyone going to the Pandorica convention in Bristol early November?). Will have to think about booking another trip for July next year if I can get a convention ticket.

Only a little annoyed about the TORDFC fees (actually the ethics of charging without being active rather than the actual money) for the last few years but very happy the club may be starting up again.

There appears to be some life in TORDFC yet! A retweet of a Doug Naylor tweet on X today. Really hope it’s a sign of things to come. Would love another DJ!

For anyone who is interested, I have sent off an email checking in on the current state of TORDFC and will post here if I hear back. I would much appreciate any updates if anyone hears anything.

It’s never too late for the old team members to get back involved…….(if any see this post).
😂😂😂😂😂😂 Thank you, I needed that!
Also, that’s a HARD no from me.

It was worth a try Jo! (Sorry it was fairly obvious who I was directing that plea to lol).

The reason I’m trying to tread lightly when raising this is I’ve had such great experiences with literally every member of the TORDFC team I’ve dealt with over the years. Every annoying question Ive asked/email I’ve sent (and there were a few!) was dealt with really well. Hopefully things will pick up again.

I hate to say this, but setting aside all my previous association with the club and friendship with those currently in it, I recommend you ask for a refund and cancel your membership until signs of life starts to show.

Really sad to hear this. All the previous DJ’s have been excellent and I had been hoping to head over for another one soon. Ive tried emailing them directly without much response but to be honest I’m not bothered about the membership fee just would love to see things start up again. Really don’t want to give them a hard time, i’m sure they have their reasons and they are volunteers but would be great to see some action. It’s never too late for the old team members to get back involved…….(if any see this post).

Blimey is it nearly 35 year since I missed the first episode going out? Can’t even believe it’s nearly 5 years since the best ever dimension jump.

Does anyone know if a 35 year anniversary dimension jump is planned for next year? Nothing on the TORDFC site yet and it takes a bit of planning to make it over from Aus.

Every time I watch these episodes I’m struck by just what an awful shit Rimmer is at this early stage.

The same thing stood out for me. In “future echoes”, miming carrying a coffin/internal memo. I always wait for the “don’t go” line from Rimmer and had to watch part of the episode twice before I remembered he only tries to stop him going to the drive room in the novel.

Very juvenile I know but old Lister laughing in Rimmer’s face is great.

I love “The End” but struggle to watch the actor playing George McIntyre as he looks so incredibly nervous.

Great lines in “Balance of power”. “It’s a mirror” and the sequence with Lister trying to convince Rimmer to let him bring back Kochanski.

    Three great episodes.

Just for you the deal extends to Friday night. Just want to hear you make that statement. Have landed in London only a train trip to Nottingham to go.

Toxteth O-Grady! My favourite name on this site so far. Just managed to get tickets to see Nigel Planner/Adrian Edmondson in Bath just before I head back home after DJ.

The beauty of hindsight! I rewatched series 1 again today and there were quite a few moments when I thought how can the audience not appreciate this more? What a privilege to be at the recording. Loan me the temporal, integration, manipulation and extrapolation machine please.

Thanks Guys. Have never seen Peep show and hadn’t even heard of Upstart Crow. I can access both on Netflix/foxtel so I’m set!

Had to avoid reading anything else on the site to read the replies. Be back in 2 months when series 12 finally released in Australia!
