Guest cast confirmed for Fathers and Suns News Posted by Jonathan Capps on 21st September 2012, 11:22 Good old Orange Mark is at it again, this time giving us a peek at the guest characters for episode 2 – Fathers and Suns. No new pictures have been released this time, but obviously the information I’m about to discuss could be considered spoilery by some, so you’ve been warned. Also, our usual spoiler policy for all the smug cunts who were at the recording applies as always. The synopsis given is the same one we’ve previously seen, but now we have an actor to attach to this mysterious ‘Pree’, namely the excellent Rebecca Blackstone. She makes me want to do something, but I don’t know what it is! Whatever it is… etc etc. Blatant sexism aside, Rebecca gives a really fantastic performance as Pree. I predict she’ll be popular. Also listed is Kerry Shale, who will be playing Medi-Bot (MEDI-BOT) and someone called Taiwan Tony, two roles that I really can’t comment on much until the episode airs. Let’s just say that these are two performances that are certainly going to be memorable for a number of reasons, especially considering Kerry is white, Canadian and tasked with playing a character called Taiwan Tony.
She certainly has the piecing stare I would expect Pree to have. Gosh, with all this information coming out, you would think that there was actually an episode of Red Dwarf coming out soon!
I’m a bit worried the 3 characters described here sound like the White Hole Holly/Talkie Toaster scenes and although just a guess and the rest of the episodes descriptions sound promising I am worried about rehashing and repeating old ideas (like relentlessly flogging the Ace/Duane Dibley/Polymorph characters? White hole was one of my favourite episodes though. So what is it?
I will be really annoyed if we get a full season of Red Dwarf with this many guest characters and even different computers but Holly is left out . :(
Kerry Shale was excellent reading the audiobook of “The Education of Hyman Kaplan”, along with all Bill Bryson’s old audiobooks. He was also in last year’s Doctor Who, as the guy in that orphanage run by the Silence.
I kinda hope we dont get the ‘trojan’ treatment for every episode before the series starts. Im fine with episode one being spoiled as was expecting it to (being the opening episide). As long as the others are kept hush hush.. its hard to avoid everything.

I especially like how he did the digitized/pixellated effect over his face in series I. That’s a real fucking talent.
