In a move that looks set to either kill me or at least comatose me for several months, I will be attempting to walk for 26.2 miles through London in the middle of the night. This is due to a) peer pressure, b) fundraising for Cancer Research.

If you like G&T, or just hate cancer, you can show some support by chucking a few quid my way at justgiving.com/iansymes.

Good job, sir, and a worthy cause. I shall gladly chuck some money your way as soon as I am able.

    #117673

I have ‘donated’ some ‘money’ to you Ian.

And by donated I mean masturbated furiously, and by money I mean jiz. Obviously.

    Every little helps.

    #117675

Just out of curiousity, won’t walking that far take you AGES?

Yes, probably around ten hours, if not more. I didn’t really think this through, but I wanted to sign up before I had chance to change my mind.

    > Yes, probably around ten hours, if not more.

It’s ok, you can probably cut the time down a bit by just running the whole way. I’m sure that would be fine.

How much do I have to donate to get a spanking from Emma Willis? :P

I can’t make any promises, but a tenner is a good start. Cheers!

I believe an American person has already donated, so I assume Justgiving can handle that.

I don’t think it’ll take you all that long. I’m no Usain Bolt, but I walk five miles into work every day and it takes about 45 minutes to an hour. It should probably take you about half what you expect.

In which case, I say man up and run it.

Someone once gave me a tip: if you get tired, walk backwards.

I tried this and it’s total bullsmeg. If you get tired, take a breather.

Also: I’m sure you already know this, but just in case, a marathon is definitely NOT the time to break in a brand new pair of sneakers.

Someone once gave me a tip: Stop half way for a wank.

I tried this and it’s total bullsmeg, if you get tired this will make you more tired.

Also: This is why I cant take ANY jobs that require a criminal record check.

Someone once gave me a tip. Get some escort boots.

I tried this and it’s total bullsmeg, if you get tired this will make you more tired, having to lift your legs up high in a comedy fashion, cus it turns out they are just heavy props and not real.

Also: The same is true of smart shoes, and back to the future hover boards.

Seriously if you are not fit, an by fit I mean you can do 15 to 30 mins of light exercise without breathing heavy, sweating, light headness. Take a 325mg aspirin with breakfest.
This will reduce your risk of dying from a heart attack! Unless you are allergic to aspirin.
This saved my life when I had my heart attack. Seriously!

Good advice Pete but also bear in mind it’s a blood thinner too, so if you have related medical issues it shouldn’t be taken.

I take aspirin daily now as I’ve had a heart attack and a small stroke, but I know plenty of fit and well people that take it daily.

Yes, I will definitely ‘man up’ by running a marathon with no training, boosted by self-prescribed medicines.

    In other news, thanks Jonsmad!
