I created a Red Dwarf ringtone for my cheapo Motorola cell phone since I can’t download one to the thing. If interested, here it is:

    4c2*4e2*4g1*4a2*4a3*4g3*4a3*4b3*5c2*4c2*4e2*4g1*4f2*4e2*4a1*4a24b2*5c1*5c3*4b34a3*4b3*5c1*4g1*4#a1*4a0*4d1*4#g1*4g0

It actually sounds pretty good – my kids make my phone ring just to hear it!

I have the Rimmer Munchkin song for my mobile, although it gets annoying, so I constantly change from song to song.

Ian had the Gunmen theme for his ringtone at one point, which I sadly thought was pretty cool.

I used to have Tongue Tied but that got annoying when it went off all the time.

It seems history is repeating itself.

Oh yeah! Back in the monophonic days. I had the Observation Dome music on my recently deceased phone. On my new one, I have a midi file of the Emerald Hill Zone music from Sonic 2. Thus I win.

    I’m confused. Was that a joke I didn’t get?

It’s the same with any ringtone, and indeed, with anything you get too use to. It’s better that we let some time before, viewing, listening to again. For example If I watch Me2 today, and then again tomorrow, it’s still entertaining in a way, but not as much as if you leave it for a while, say a month, then when you come back to see it, your not like, yeah I know this word for word. Certain things may catch you out, you may laugh at something you found boring. You begin to appreciate it more if you know what I mean.

DIGITAL SOUND PROCESSOR. Well any musician will tell you that any instrument that produces sound my electronic means is a Digital Sound Processor, what you’re hearing is an Appeggiator.

HA! Take that Oldfield, with your wealthyness and your abilities to make good music.

Oh and not to start turning this into a TB discussion. Tubular Bells 2003 has John Cleese introducing the instruments. Was meant to be the original guy Viv Stanshall, but sadly he died before he could do it.
