Though this probably wouldn’t be needed with an Extended Behind the Scenes. – Photo Gallery – Raw FX footage – Music Cues – Booklet – Trailers (And there were a lot of them) – “Ball Boy” music featurette with all Norm’s best whinging moments from throughout the documentaries. – “Life on Mars?” April Fools videos. – Cast commentary – Naylor commentary I’m sure you guys want much more. With the show being made with the DVD release in mind, who knows what other footage they’ll have. Anything you can think of. April 12, 2009 at 11:22 pm #96224 siParticipant And THAT packaging. April 12, 2009 at 11:37 pm #96231 NoFroParticipant Send that to Andrew SO and we’ve got us a sweet DVD. April 13, 2009 at 12:00 am #96237 Kris CarterParticipant Can’t see much happening in the way of music cues, as it seems like it’s all library music (theme and incidental’s excluded of course). It’d be nice to have a retrospective look at the Movie that didn’t happen… maybe some clips of the cast read through, the prep, the storyboards, the failed funding attempts etc etc. And I know this ain’t gonna happen, but it’d be neat as hell to have PDF’s of the Radio Times and other magazine features from April 09 included on there too, cos I’m a sad act like that… April 13, 2009 at 12:56 am #96245 littlesmeggerParticipant >it?d be neat as hell to have PDF?s of the Radio Times and other magazine features from April 09 included on there too, cos I?m a sad act like that? Someone buys classic Doctor Who episodes don’t they :P April 13, 2009 at 12:59 am #96246 JamesTCParticipant Yes, me though they have stopped some of the PDF stuff on them, the annuals have stopped, shame, I liked those. April 13, 2009 at 1:13 am #96249 JonsmadParticipant Everything mentioned already, with The making of to include more about They Walk Among Us Filming. plus the following. The dave picture frame episode intro’s Meta fiction headfucking alternate menu’s based on Blade runner and coronation street DVD’s as options. Or fake alternate covers or something fun. Meta Fictional in Character commentary from Kyrten, Lister, Rimmer and Cat as if they had got hold of some dvd’s of red dwarf and played them. We hear them talk over selected scenes from previous red dwarf and/or over Back to Earth itself somehow. Character Commentary on Back to earth by Mike Mellington and Noddy (which includes a lot of arguments as they disagree about what’s bollocks and how real it all is.) Commentary on Part three scene’s by Coronation Street Guest Stars and Craig Some fake stuff about the meta fiction mentioned Red Dwarf IX. From fake dvd adverts in the collectors booklet saying buy now at PriceSmashers, to a featurette where the cast discuss the making of it. I’ll ask: what’s the difference between the two? April 13, 2009 at 1:34 am #96254 JamesTCParticipant 2 letters? April 13, 2009 at 3:02 am #96259 pfmParticipant I’m wondering whether it’ll even be presented as 3 episodes on the DVD. It’s blatantly one feature-length episode of television and I know for a fact I won’t ever watch it in any other way. Surely they can’t have them on the DVD as broadcast because the cuts to adverts are so wrong. April 13, 2009 at 3:40 am #96260 peas_and_cornParticipant A short video of the thing at berkeley square? April 13, 2009 at 3:53 am #96263 PhilParticipant >Surely they can?t have them on the DVD as broadcast because the cuts to adverts are so wrong. It’d be nice to have both for completion’s sake (and I’ll admit that I got mileage out of the “broadcast” cuts of Back in the Red because sometimes I just want a half hour of television), but if I had to choose, I would go feature-length for this one. April 13, 2009 at 11:27 am #96287 Zombie Jim UndeadParticipant Definitely definitely the Dave channel intros. For the main episodes and the other repeats…cos I didn’t catch them all with my inaccurate “press button now. No, NOW!” recording technique. Anybody know why there’s no Blu Ray release date yet? I mean you go to all the trouble of shooting on the Red Camera system and all that. April 13, 2009 at 11:16 pm #96473 JamesTCParticipant Future proofing. April 13, 2009 at 11:42 pm #96487 Mr FlibbleParticipant I thought I heard there was a Bluray coming out? April 14, 2009 at 4:19 am #96511 SomebodyParticipant It would be odd if a show mastered in HD didn’t get a Blu-Ray release, y’d’think. If the DVD comes out first, then the BR will come out for Xmas… April 14, 2009 at 4:21 am #96512 peas_and_cornParticipant >Nah, video. Beta? April 14, 2009 at 4:29 am #96514 MnoooahParticipant No, the triangle ones. April 14, 2009 at 7:47 am #96523 JamesTCParticipant Nah, it will come out on the low quality rectangle ones as seen in ‘Me2’ and then come out in the super quality triangle ones much later. April 14, 2009 at 8:55 am #96527 Ian SymesKeymaster Dave said that DVD and Bluray releases were planned for later in the year. April 14, 2009 at 9:06 am #96529 AnonymousInactive Whatever they put in it we’re all going to buy it, aren’t we? I’d like a Sophie Winkleman interactive KP Nuts game included as an Easter Egg. April 14, 2009 at 11:10 am #96561 JonsmadParticipant And when is the total imersion video version coming? packaged in a tuppleware lunchbox. April 14, 2009 at 3:43 pm #96654 Danny StephensonKeymaster What I would seriously like is the cover art of all the DVDs and posters that were created for the show. Pretty please with sugar on? And also for the DVD cover to look EXACTLY like it did on the show. Thus completing the cycle. April 14, 2009 at 4:21 pm #96660 siParticipant At the end of The Making Of… when the cast are sticking their heads through the model corridor doorway, you hear a cry of ‘cut!’, ie it’s a planned (scripted?) sequence. If that’s not somewhere on the DVD, I’ll be very surprised. April 14, 2009 at 4:22 pm #96661 NoFroParticipant I noticed that. Wondered why it was intentionally being filmed. April 14, 2009 at 4:26 pm #96662 siParticipant Who’s going to look for ‘The Lady With A Face’ on July 25th? April 14, 2009 at 8:34 pm #96710 mookiemanParticipant Gah, Total Immersion version, triangular video version, spaghetti version (you slurp the stringy bit and the show is projected inside your retina via a secret nerve on the roof of your mouth). I’ll bertay the cause and wait until later in the year for the Blu Ray then. Will look fabulous esp the Cats purple ensemble. *DUCKS & RUNS FROM THREAD* April 15, 2009 at 12:40 am #96759 thomasaevansParticipant Andrew did confirm only DVD at the moment. But I agree… why shoot It on HD and not get It out on HD? (Future proof? Yeah ok but at this moment NO-ONE in the public has seen these episodes in HD…that to me Is a waste of money). I cant stress this enough. I really really really want these episodes on Bluray. 2|Entertain have plenty of Bluray DVDs on the market, so Its not out of their reach. Ive only recently bought a HDTV & PS3… Red Dwarf would be fucking awesome showcase for It, what with the RED camera shooting. April 15, 2009 at 9:15 am #96787 thomasaevansParticipant Hold the phone. I found Bobby’s quote on the website: For all those who have been asking about the new eps in their countries, be assured we haven’t forgotten about you. Dave will be releasing the shows on DVD and Blu Ray later this year. You will be able to order the DVD’s from this very site, shortly after Easter joindave.co.uk April 15, 2009 at 11:10 am #96801 NakrophileParticipant I eagerly await traveling along the ship, past the windows and the side/dome/graveyard place, then into the ship proper, down the new corridors and into the new sleeping quarters. Also, I eagerly await floating in the water tank, going into the diving bell and up onto the surface when I put the second disc in.
